Job Title: Systems Automation & Integrations Specialist I

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Automation Specialist I role enhances operational efficiencies through technology and automation across Mid-America Christian University. This position evaluates, designs, and implements automated processes to streamline operations and enhance service delivery within the University framework. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the integration solutions that enable our systems to communicate and function efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the identification and evaluation of processes for automation potential.
Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using various technologies and platforms.
Document existing procedures and new integration processes and collaborate with department heads to outline automation solutions.
Work with stakeholders across different departments to gather integration requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
Spearhead the implementation of technology solutions, focusing on quality and strategic alignment with University goals.
Implement APIs, middleware, and other technologies to facilitate system integrations.
Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues, providing timely resolutions to maintain system uptime and performance.
Serve as a bridge between the University's operational needs and technological capabilities.
When assigned to a project, regularly report project progress through the Project Manager in order for IT to provide insightful analysis and updates to executive leadership.
Offer ongoing support and enhancement insight for automated processes to ensure adaptability and continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain documentation and training materials for newly automated systems and processes.
Collaborate with software developers, IT staff, and external vendors to ensure seamless integrations.
Stay updated on new integration technologies and methodologies, recommending improvements to existing systems.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies during the integration process.
Effectively transfer knowledge of developments and implementations to the rest of the IT Administrative Systems team to ensure depth of understanding and support.
Understanding and demonstration of documentation (inline and other)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
Strong understanding of APIs, web services, and middleware technologies.
Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
