What do you get to do in this position?

This position is typically held by an individual who has 1-3 years experience in the industry and has intermediate knowledge of building automation and control, or other building or electronic control systems or Schneider Electric's software applications. This position is responsible for providing high-quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules, and/or providing central engineering support for building automation applications, as well as participating on a team to design, install and service building automation and energy management systems. Works with minimal supervision and reports into the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities included below should be handled with minimal supervision:
1.Review specifications, drawings, estimates, and existing customer or site requirements as necessary to define an executed scope
2.Resolve design issues through RFI's, field surveys and documentation materials tracking
3.Assist in developing software/hardware standards and processes
4.Assist in a job close out by providing final record drawings
5.Designs hardware submittals of an intermediate level, or of an expert level with mentor support
6.Maintain and adhere to standards for estimating and budgeting software or hardware designs
7.May participate in troubleshooting problems on installed systems and solutions at the customer site
8.May participate in field checkout using standard startup and checkout processes
9.Remains abreast of the latest developments in engineering specialty to guide future development efforts

Job Description The SW Engineer IV, through Software Simulation and Application Development Projects, will apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electromechanical equipment, and Data Acquisition / Control / Automation devices along with mathematics, physics, thermodynamics, along with various software / firmware to safely and reliably facilitate the production of large quantities of highly accurate product test data on a variety of test equipment in the HVAC Research and Development Testing Facility. * Handles advance aspects of design, development and integration of embedded software components and applications. * Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects. * Coordinates the effores of engineering support staff. * Designs and develops Windows Software applications. * Implements software components based on applicable specifications and design. This person will identify and develop appropriate manual and automated measurement and control processes and procedures and also develop, enhance, and / or specify replacement components for any existing Test System. The person in this position will be responsible to learn company policies and procedures to complete various Product Data Production Projects / Assignments. These functions require great familiarity and solid judgment when interacting with the various Systems. This person will also be responsible for assisting and sometimes overseeing Installs, Troubleshooting, Repairs / Maintenance, Commissioning and Acceptance Testing to a variety of Test Equipment including: PCs, Controller Networks, Data Acquisition / Control / SCADA Systems and the associated devices / equipment. This person should also maintain a degree of familiarity and ability with regard to refrigeration, air conditioning, heating units, electric motors, and other equipment as it relates to test systems throughout the organization.
