LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 226 days WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt DATE REVISED MAR 21 2023 SALARY RANGE: $65,423 Minimum

$91,277 Maximum PAY GRADE: AM4

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To assist in the development of short and long-range plans for the integration and maintenance of third party software applications and the District's management information and web content systems.

To provide skillful computer programming and systems' designs to increase effectiveness and reduce the cost of district functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's Degree required

Major in computer science or a related field preferred

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Technical experience in web design, web content management systems, and web content security

Technical experience working with HTML/CSS, XML, SQL, JavaScript, and Web Analytics

Technical experience working with State and Federal Web Content Accessibility Compliance Regulations

Technical experience working with graphic design

Strong working knowledge of and familiarity with programming techniques, database concepts, and data structures

Strong working knowledge of database management and database SQL language

Strong working knowledge with the Application Development Life Cycle

Strong working knowledge of and familiarity with computer hardware/software, and Internet applications

School district experience and strong working knowledge with educational management information systems, technology hardware, software, and trends preferred.

Experience developing Microsoft ASP.NET applications

Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills

Strong spelling, grammar, and editing skills

Strong personal and organizational skills

Ability to learn new hardware and software with minimum of training

Experience:

Three years of working experience in programming, database management, and technical support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Maintain and develop software for the District's management information system services which include:
  • Application design, data management, and data reporting
  • Obtain appropriate feedback from end users throughout the design process
  • Integrate data from several sources as appropriate to build solutions
  • Develop processes and procedures for managing application systems
  • Apply system upgrades as required.
  • Manage and secure efficient computer application systems and services to meet the district needs and goals.
  • Maintain and develop content for the District's web content systems which include:
  • Implementing technically secure and user-friendly website design in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements for web content management, design, and accessibility
  • Designing and creating a wide variety of websites using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and XML
  • Taking creative critiques from management or departmental/campus leaders and make adjustments to designs and works in progress.
  • Assisting in the planning, preparation, and project management for web design start to delivery.

Maintain knowledge of standard computer languages, coding methods, and operations requirements.

  • Develop and run special reports and queries.
  • Ensure that all information systems and applications are maintained and upgraded in a timely

manner.

  • Provides phone and on-site technical support to all staff utilizing the management information

and web content systems.

  • Conducts initial and follow-up training related to the management information systems.
  • Provides technology solutions whenever appropriate to more effectively implement the District's

improvement plan goals.

  • Compiles, maintains and writes proper documentation related to the management information

systems

  • Assists with district wide assessment information and reports.
  • Maintains knowledge that is current on information systems, computer training, emerging

technologies and instructional strategies for technology.

  • Observes professional and ethical work standards and keeps security sensitive information

confidential.

  • Stays informed of federal and state laws and guidelines related to technology.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and the local board policies in the data processing area.

  • Work cooperatively with district and campus administration to achieve the goals of the district and schools.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
