Systems And Flight Controls Engineer

Our 70-year-old global Aerospace & Defense client has asked The Maven Group to locate a talented Flight Controls Engineer to join a smart and small team west of  Dallas/Ft Worth, TX.

Our client employs over 11,000 people across the globe and provides solutions to markets such as satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance.

This position is a direct-hire, full-time role and includes an excellent benefits package including great medical coverage starting day one, profit sharing, a true retirement plan, tuition reimbursement of up to 15k/yr and a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off. This role requires the candidate to be onsite at my clients facility with potentially a few work from home days per week. Relocation assistance can be provided.

The chosen Flight Controls Engineer will provide individual technical contribution and engineering leadership in the development of advanced avionics and flight control systems. You be responsible in the the design and development of model-based autopilot control laws for rotorcraft and airplanes.

To be considered a viable candidate, you should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or other related engineering degrees with 5-8 years of experience. Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and/or related experience may be considered.
• Prior experience with Flight Control Law/Autopilot Development, Control Law software coding, and flight dynamics model development.
• Solid understanding of classical and modern control laws, software coding of control laws, and techniques for autopilot development
• Aviation industry experience and familiarity with FAA certification preferred.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to support projects.
• This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
