SYSTEMS ANALYST II

Description:

Position Summary

Serves as a technical expert in at least one area of application support and development technology. Reviews, analyzes and modifies application systems to support the organization's multi-platform technical environment. Coordinate efforts for system and user administration to ensure the reliability, availability, integrity and security of data of the Sandia Resort and Casino Information Systems Infrastructure.

Supervision Exercised

Supervised by the Manager of MIS.

Coordinates efforts of Systems Analyst I employees with respect to short and long-term projects.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Plans, designs, develops, and launches efficient information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions.
Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing.
Documents user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify business systems.
Evaluates effectiveness of existing information processing systems.
Reviews computer system capabilities and workflows to determine if program change is possible within an existing system.
Documents operations to be preformed at all phases of project implementation.
Researches new information systems that meet current and projected needs.
Prepares documentation of program development, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
Prepares time and cost estimates for completing assigned projects.
Coordinates and executes system upgrades and updates.
Maintains proficiency in field of expertise by remaining knowledgeable and current with system's hardware and software.
Evaluates and coordinate training needs of information and operations systems.
Serves as primary key operator for MIS department and coordinates regularly scheduled Key Operator meetings.
Ensures that all applications and systems that he/she is responsible for are available at all times and takes proactive steps to achieve 100% uptime.
Will adhere to all communicated project milestones and deadlines.
Will annually review application and system security with management and revise systems security as required.
Will adhere to all MIS Internal Controls and Standard Operating Procedures.
Conducts regularly scheduled department stand ups.
Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of MIS and IT concepts, principles and practices.
Knowledge of computer operations and user environments.
Working knowledge of the following applications: Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Suite of applications specifically Microsoft Project.
Ability to be trained in multiple systems programs.
Ability to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage projects, install, configure, upgrade, maintain, monitor system performance, network resources and provide guidance to team members.
Ability to analyze business requirements and make recommendations for improvement through technology.
Must possess strong customer service skills.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to create reports and maintains files.
Ability to be well organized.
Ability work in fast pace, high pressure situations.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS (Computer Information Systems), IT or related field and four (4) years' experience coordinating technical projects, including two (2) years as an application manager. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Licensing Status

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
