Systems Analyst Ii-Ent

FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a SYSTEMS ANALYST II - ENT to conduct business requirements reviews, technical systems specifications and systems process analysis.

To develop detailed selection evaluation criteria. To analyze and re-engineer business processes using industry standard tools and methods with understanding of the technical and business environments. To partner with business process experts to learn and understand problems with software.

To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.

This position is responsible for applications supported by the UAB IT Infrastructure - Application Services Team including the support of Windows Active Directory management, Office 365 management, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Azure hosting, Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services for Campus users, Azure DevOps platform management, UAB's GitHub implementation. This position is also responsible for Office 365-based applications such as Email, SharePoint, and Teams as well as IDM support systems and mail gateways, PVCS, DevOps practices within Infrastructure, supporting and providing back up for Operations.

Strong documentation skills required for all managed services including crisis response processes and disaster recovery plans. In addition, the successful candidate will be a team player; strong communicator; comfortable with an open work environment; has a progressive work history with a desire to continuously learn and grow, and is driven by integrity.

(Annual Salary: $81,525 - $132,475)

Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Skills:

a. Comfortable with a range of programming and scripting languages

b. Experience using the typical Microsoft toolbox of software and management tools

c. Experience with large scale distributed systems in production

d. Good knowledge of internet networking and performance

e. Good knowledge of mail routing and Exchange management

f. Passionate about troubleshooting, debugging, and automation

g. Strong Microsoft products (Windows, Active Directory, Azure, Office 365) knowledge

h. Strong knowledge of deploying and running services on IaaS providers (preferably Azure)

i. Knowledge of best practices and tooling

j. Experience with clustering and containerization technologies
