Nature and Scope of Job

USDM is seeking a skilled and versatile Systems Administrator with a strong background in managing and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including setting up and maintaining Microsoft SQL servers, implementing backup and restore procedures, configuring computers, and managing on-premises server environments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and proficient in a variety of IT tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Microsoft SQL Server Management: Set up, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL servers. Ensure databases are optimized, secure, and efficiently managed.

  • Backup and Restore Operations: Implement and oversee backup and restore procedures using various tools including Veeam. Ensure reliable backup of data and systems, and quick restoration in case of data loss or system failure.

  • Computer Setup and Configuration: Responsible for setting up and configuring new computers, including installation of necessary software and ensuring proper integration into the network.

  • Backup Tools and Agents: Manage and maintain backup tools and agents, including file backup agents and backup agents for SQL servers.

  • Server Management: Administer on-premises servers, including those similar to AWS, ensuring they are running efficiently and securely.

  • Active Directory Management: Add and manage computers within Active Directory, ensuring proper access and security protocols are followed.

  • General IT Support: Provide general IT support as needed, including troubleshooting, system updates, and assisting with various IT projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in systems administration or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Experience with backup and restore procedures, and familiarity with tools such as Veeam.

  • Proficient in setting up and managing on-premises server environments.

  • Experience with Active Directory and network administration.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new technologies and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, systems administration, or related fields.

Experience in a similar industry or larger-scale IT environment.

Education & Certifications

  • University certificate or degree in Technology or related field
