As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining servers and workstations supporting mission-critical computing environments. You will develop processes and procedures for verifying system integrity, configuration management and automated deployment of systems and services. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, upgrade, diagnose, and support workstation and server hardware, as well as COTS and custom-built software for a multi-user environment.

  • Work closely with engineers and operators from multiple disciplines to understand and meet hardware, software, and configuration needs

  • Write consistent, clear, concise documentation on how to perform, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software issues while utilizing industry best practices.

  • Help define, enforce, and maintain processes for configuration control of mission- and safety-critical systems while incorporating requirements from IT Networking and IT Security.

  • Provide precise, quick, seamless IT Help Desk service in a high-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Complete expertise in Microsoft Windows client and server Operating Systems

  • 3+ years experience in a technical support or systems administration role

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Expertise with Linux (Ubuntu and CentOS client and server)

  • Proficient skill with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)

  • Knowledge of Red Hat Ansible, Gitlab, or other Continuous Improvement / Continuous Deployment automation pipelines to consistently provide a known good configuration for various types of computing environments for each user

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of workstations and servers, computer peripherals, video conference systems (Skype for Business and Lifesize), and other AV solutions

  • The ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays if required

  • Hands-on experience with IP networking, LDAP, and Active Directory

  • Ability to be a life-long learner, have a team-oriented, continuous improvement mindset, and demonstrate a consistent customer-centric attitude

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee, or granted asylum

Desired:

  • 5+ years experience in a technical support or systems administration role

New Shepard is the first step in achieving this vision through the use of a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and payloads into space. As a New Shepard Mission Manager you will be part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts responsible for the execution of payload, astronaut, and integrated test launch operations. Ownership begins with planning of the assigned mission and continues through mission execution and completion of the Post Flight Data Review and After Action Reports. The job is primarily based in Kent, WA with routine travel to the Texas launch site. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as the program continues to mature. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: * Review mission objectives for payload, astronaut, and test missions to ensure they are in alignment with all stakeholder requirements * Develop the mission integrated master schedule and conduct critical path analysis * Manage and execute the mission integrated master schedule * Ensure clear, consistent, and routine stakeholder communications * Prepare and present mission status updates to Senior Management and Program Directors * Review all proposed work to determine if it is executable within the mission timeline; mission critical and safety of flight items will be the highest priority * Schedule and execute all major flight planning, readiness, and close out reviews * Track and ensure completion of all deliverable's by set deadlines for the mission * Coordinate with the New Shepard Chief Engineer and other stakeholders to manage mission risk in accordance with the established Risk Management Plan * Coordinate with Design, System Architecture, and Operations to develop test plan objectives for test missions * Coordinate with other NSOM teams to ensure mission readiness (procedures, qualifications, maintenance schedule closeout, etc….) * Ensure all required licenses and certifications are submitted, tracked, and obtained prior to the mission (i.e., FAA, FCC, etc.) * Continue to develop and refine the New Shepard mission management program and processes Qualifications: * B.S. degree in engineering * 3+ years of technical project management experience * 5+ years of experience working with complex engineering systems (e.g., launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, etc….) * Ability to travel up to 25% of time * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams in a diverse work environment * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
