Under minimal direction, coordinates operational designs, develops support plans, coordinates implementations, and provides second level support for Local Area Network (LAN), Campus Area Network (CAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) solutions encompassing heterogeneous platforms. Develops system support requirements by reviewing and analyzing customer business processes and evaluating available ES and/or supplier capabilities.

Supports project teams in implementing new or upgraded designs and coordinates project efforts with support groups. Creates plans that support implementation of changes. Participates in system support design and performance evaluation reviews.

Advises on distributed network computing issues. Monitor and maintains security and integrity standards and controls. Assists in the evaluation, testing and recommendation of hardware, software, and network configurations based on customer need.

Coaches others in the application of new operational support technologies. Analyzes user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues. Coordinates and approves updates of the site administration documentation.

Keeps abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends. Recommends appropriate price/performance improvement opportunities.


  • IAT level II

  • Secret clearance (or higher)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field

In support of our DoD client's mission to provide enterprise network operations and computer network defense, the successful candidate will provide Enterprise Exchange and BlackBerry support. We are looking for SME level Messaging Systems Administrator. The position requires in-depth knowledge of Microsoft-based infrastructure design and development, messaging and directory services best-practices and advanced knowledge of systems administration, operations and management. The candidate should have expert level experience planning, documenting, installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-availability Exchange Server 2007, 2010 and 2013 environments and will be expected to be able to comfortably configure aspects of the Microsoft Enterprise Exchange in support of a 265,000 user environment across multiple AD domains to provide messaging support. The messaging environment consists of Microsoft Exchange mail services (Client Access, Hub Transport, and Mailbox server roles), Enterprise Blackberry services, NetApp backup and restore solutions, along with UnitySync directory synchronization services. The underlying infrastructure consists of physical servers, VMware Virtualization and NetApp storage solutions. Detailed responsibilities include: * Support the overall health of technologies associated with the Enterprise Messaging environment. * Provide Microsoft Enterprise Exchange operational configuration management support. * Provide Cisco IronPort technical expertise in the management, maintenance, and problem resolution. * Resolve Tier III messaging tickets * Configure Antivirus products and HBSS as they relate to Exchange Servers. * Provide guidance and instruction (to include written documentation) such as SOPs and inputs into the knowledge management system repository to the service desk for handling standard Message related incidents and service requests. * Provide documentation, guidance and instruction to the Tier 1 and Tier II service desk for handling standard Messaging related incidents, work orders and service requests. * Monitor the health of Messaging systems with provided event management tools. * Implement monitoring tools thresholds and conduct proactive event remediation. * Ensure that any latency is identified and mitigated/remediated upon discovery in accordance with required response times. * Monitor availability of system upgrades. * Provide analysis and remediation for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) for all responsible technologies in preparation for annual Commanders Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI). #cjpost Required Experience Required Qualifications: * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or Active Secret Clearance (both position clearances available) * 7 years related experience * Professional series Certification (e.g. MCSE (AD or Exchange), MCITP (AD or Exchange)) * IAT III - (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CASP or CISSP (Associate)) Smartronix Quantico VA
