The Department of Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) creates an outstanding campus environment through the management of excellent planning, design & construction projects, real estate portfolios & spatial data resources. The Systems Administrator, Senior position is an integral part of the team of architects, engineers, project managers, accountants, IT professionals and administrative support which successfully manages one of the largest University building programs in the country.

The PDC IT group are skilled programmers and IT technicians providing highly specialized and reliable business and financial reporting systems for a department with the highest expenditure rate on campus. They provide custom, focused application solutions for PDC and also other departments on campus. They developed and continue to improve one of the most comprehensive project management and accounting applications in the industry. This is key to protecting the University from the high potential for risk associated with significantly complex projects and providing sophisticated, real-time accurate information to project managers for extremely complex projects and processes. The PDC IT group has integrated traditional IT with Space Data and GIS services to provide a suite of Spatial Services for the University and the public.

The Systems Administrator, Senior will monitor and maintain Microsoft Windows systems availability, performance and security. Analyze, install, configure, integrate and maintain systems software, hardware and related applications. Respond to complex technical and workstation requests from users and technical staff. Test, troubleshoot and optimize systems performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain availability, performance and security of systems software, hardware and related applications.

  • Analyze, install, configure and maintain operating, network and other systems software and utilities, servers and other hardware and related applications systems. Add, remove and integrate software and hardware into existing systems.

  • Test systems and applications software including the impact of software updates and patches.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software systems. Optimize systems performance.

  • Conduct inventory of systems components.

  • Implement computer software and hardware licensing, warranty and vendor service agreements. Apply system updates and configuration changes.

  • Manage and Maintain file backup systems and data recoverability. Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures. Responds to security breaches, service interruptions, and other critical situations to re-establish system functionality.

  • Respond to complex technical and workstation support requests from users and technical staff. Support all Windows desk top systems.

  • Install and maintain hardware, software and peripheral equipment for user workstations.

  • Assist with drone photography, webcam installation & monitoring.

  • Perform basic website updates.

  • Manage Windows Servers.

  • Create, monitor, modify and maintain user accounts and implement systems resource use policies.

  • Coordinate systems with other internal/external systems and systems administrators. Participate in planning for system development and expansion. Participate in systems software and/or hardware projects.

  • Stay current on latest hardware and software developments.

  • Remain up to date with current security issues affecting both deployed software or campus infrastructure.

  • Special Assignments and Committees:

  • Skill in analyzing and improving systems efficiency, and integrating systems changes.

  • Skill in providing technical support to users and technical staff.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical team members.

  • Experience with Windows server and desktop administration.

  • Experience in user support and training.

  • Five years of progressively responsible system administration and/or programming experience including the installation, testing and maintenance of hardware, operating and applications systems and utilities; OR
  • Associate's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Technology or related field AND four years of progressively responsible system administration and/or programming experience including the installation, testing and maintenance of hardware, operating and applications systems and utilities; OR,
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Technology or related field AND two years of progressively responsible system administration and/or programming experience including the installation, testing and maintenance of hardware, operating and applications systems and utilities; OR,
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hyper-V virtualization administration and performance tuning, SQL Server, and IIS.

  • Veeam Backup.

The Senior Office Administrator provides the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources. May assume lead responsibilities in the operations of the front office by assisting with training and assigning and overseeing the work of others. Ensure that billing for all services provided is accurate, timely and fully documented. Provide efficient cash collection through excellent reimbursement practices while ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and established Company policies and compliance programs. Your Impact * May be a lead performer or, within established policies, procedures and guidelines, may coordinate the performance of some functions by others: * May train and/or direct the work of other front office staff to ensure the highest level of customer service. * May participate in the hiring process. * May participate in annual Performance Planning and Review process for administrative staff. * Obtain and maintain accurate patient, billing and insurance information, verification and pre-authorization in patient files and in the billing system. * Accurately process all billing daily, with full documentation. * Follow up on all open accounts in a timely manner to ensure that accurate chronological financial records are maintained on each patient. * Coordinate communications with payers to ensure accurate billing practices, enhance reimbursement opportunities, achieve cash collection targets and reduce or maintain A/R over 120 days at and below target level. * Provide counseling to patients advising them of their financial responsibility and obtaining credit agreements for outstanding balances. * Apply all cash and adjustments to the computer billing system and make bank deposits in a timely manner. * Maintain accurate and complete patient files, ensuring that they are in compliance with Hanger's Compliance Policies. * Ensure the privacy and security of protected health information per HIPAA requirements. * Assist with quality assurance programs to ensure patient satisfaction with Hanger Clinic services as necessary. * Oversee patient follow-up and assist with Patient Evaluation Clinics as directed. * Report timely key statistics to market and corporate management for sales, revenue, cash and patient flow. * Maintain a system of internal controls to ensure proper handling of cash receipts including data entry and bank deposits. * Report Clinic employee hours to Payroll Department accurately and timely. * Coordinate scheduling of clinician schedules to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments. * Review clinician documentation to ensure complete and appropriate patient billing. * Performs other duties or special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications * Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. * Minimum five years administrative and/or healthcare billing experience required. * A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures required. * Minimum three to five years experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) billing preferred. * Ability to key 50 words per minute preferred.
