Description

SAIC is seeking candidates for the Cyber Defense Engineering and Training II (CDET II) effort. The mission of CDET II is to provide engineering, technical, and training support to Defense Cyberspace Operations (DCO) activities for the USAF's 14th Air Force Space Mission Ground Segment Systems, and emerging mission systems and enhancements in support of the Space Warfighting Construct. Support for this mission will be performed at a variety of locations in CO, CA, NM and FL. The purpose of DCO support is to enable protection from, detection of, and response to cyber threats, and maintenance of cyber defense systems. Candidates will actively take part in or provide support to the USAF in the areas of Protect, Detect, Respond, and Sustain (Maintain) their computer systems.

Sustains test and production infrastructure; implements onsite and remote installation of new capabilities; supports E&I activities with technical implementation and deployment. Provides on-site logistics support, installation, integration, and system administration of Government provided DCO technical solutions. Complies with maintenance response times and actions for incidents relating to Government provided DCO technical solutions. Interacts with external organizations to ensure systems are functioning properly; oversees assigned problems to determine root causes, work around solutions, and resolutions

Qualifications

Education

  • BS Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) preferred) and 9-13 years' experience

Experience

  • 3 years of SIEM/IDS/IPS maintenance/implementation (Tools O&M, optimization)

Certifications

  • Cybersecurity Workforce (DoDI 8570.01-M) - IAT-II (e.g. Sec+)
  • Senior Level Computing Environment Certification
  • ITIL Intermediate Level Certification within 60 days of hire (ITIL RC&V preferred)

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of Defense Enterprise Service Management Framework (DESMF) and ITIL Release, Control, and Validation processes

  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding Service Level Agreements

  • Demonstrated experience with on-time releases, systems security administration, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) support

  • Ability to interact with technical experts in formal, informal, remote, and onsite meetings

  • A Top Secret security clearance with SCI access is required.

General Duties: * Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems using hardware and software testing tools and techniques. * Demonstrate network support techniques and experience. * Provides technical support and training to Team and end-users. * Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures. * Provides minor server maintenance. * Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. * Participates in special projects as required. * Provides side by side Team support when needed to complete the mission. * Enforces Policy and Standards as appropriate. * Provides Administrative functions for the team to include but not limited to Performance Appraisals, Employee Counseling and Recognition, Employee In-processing and Resignation/Termination Actions, and Training Requests. * Submit After Action Reports (AARs) as warranted and provide customer briefings on operational issues. * Progressive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software. * Experience with operating systems and applications as they pertain to the enterprise environment. * Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance to employees * Assist in the management of the Enterprise Network for resource availability. * Self-starter. Able to take the initiative to get the mission done with minimal supervision. Shift Work is required (work center is 24/7/365). Education BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or or equivalent education, technical certifications, training or work experience. Qualifications 5+ Years of Experience Desirable Skills/Requirements: * Strong Customer Support Skills – Verbal and written (primarily interaction with customers over the phone) in a high visibility environment. * Able to work independently within a Team Concept (Network Operations Center). * Capable of multitasking in a stressful environment. * Technical Skills commensurate with CCNA and/or Network+ level technical knowledge. * Video Teleconferencing (VTC) experience. * Understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles at a foundation level. * Prior experience tracking and troubleshooting network outages.
