Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring smooth IT Infrastructure operations to SAIC workforce assigned to designated work locations and networks.

  • IT Support for monitoring, diagnosing, and troubleshooting of network firewalls, switches, routers, VoIP Phones and other associated network hardware and software.

  • Provide infrastructure support for AV and VTC and Software systems as required.

  • Interfaces with the employees/customers to ensure new IT systems (HW, SW and networks) are coordinated through all corporate interfaces (Security, ITO Directorates).

  • Conducts on-site installation and testing and maintenance of IT equipment to ensure proper working order.

  • Responsibilities include oversight and integration support of existing hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives for all sites within area of responsibility.

  • Installation of software maintenance releases or hardware upgrades including the oversight of the installation process and test procedures to diagnose and resolve product performance problems at installation.

  • Identifies areas requiring product improvement and works with program and ITO to implement upgrades and hardware or software engineering change orders.

  • Provides feedback and customer support regarding product performance issues and suggested solutions which may require product exchanges or more complex problem solving. Plans, prepares and conducts on-the-job training as required in support of the foregoing activities.

  • Performs design and implementation of IT systems that require the integration of diverse and complex components.

  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements, facility requirements (including floor layout, power & cooling, network connectivity), data storage, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.

Requirements

  • Must have knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53 implementations in secure environments.

  • Current SECRET, ability to obtain TS SCI

  • Security + CE certification required.

  • Knowledge of Linux

Education and Experience: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience or Masters and 3 years related experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

VIEW JOBS 1/13/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-12T00:00 SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (CBP-20-0060-F): Bowhead is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support our customer in locations in Springfield and Lorton, VA. Under general supervision, the Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for activities related to system administration, assigning personnel to various projects, directing their activities, and evaluating their work. Responsible for ensuring long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Other responsibilities will include the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software as well as implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Specific tasks include the following: * Reorganizing workstations in the enterprise to adhere to patch windows, and by system type. * Defining Active Directory (AD) groups for each agency system. * Working with field management/FTOs to move all agency systems into one of these AD groups. * Collaborating with Patch and Release Management team to turn on System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Peer Caching or Similar SCCM technology and same-site redundancy for all sites. * Documenting site-specific settings while cataloging unique systems at each site. * Traveling to validate site group memberships and patching windows. * On-site support of systems to troubleshooting patch status, and affect immediate patch repairs * Remote support of systems to troubleshooting patch status, and affect immediate patch repairs Candidates with a current Top Secret (SSBI) security clearance or current CBP suitability determination based on a CBP BI are highly encouraged to apply. Seek candidates with a current MCSA, Security+(CE), CISSP, GSEC, SSCP or CCNA-Security certifications. Requirements • Must have at least five (5+) years of systems administration experience clearly showing experience with the tasks shown above * Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, SCCM, and related applications * Intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Skilled in oral and written communications in English * Ability to work in a combined government / contractor team * US citizenship is a contractual requirement * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts * Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: - Candidates must have a current and favorably adjudicated SSBI, T5, or T5R, background investigation (such as is required for a TS, TS/SCI, or other critical/sensitive positions within the US Government) Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and/or random drug screen, and must follow UIC's Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
