We are a solutions driven, dynamic organization seeking a Systems Administrator located in the area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Using innovative technology and methodologies, our team provides software support for post deployment (PDSS) and post production (PPSS) Army Mission Command systems.

Job Summary:

We support a worldwide customer base by providing critical PDSS and PPSS support which encompasses Command & Control, Communications - Tactical (C3T) systems ensuring superiority in the air, land and maritime domains. We provide support in all stages of the system life cycle for all assigned MC systems including support to Software Change Requests (SCRs) and Software Problem Reports (SPRs), software maintenance and emergency releases, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) releases in support of the Program Executive Office Command (PEO) C3T and Program Manager MC.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the network, topology diagrams, and status of routers and servers.

  • Planned and unscheduled maintenance activities and upgrades.

  • Back-up of data.

  • Maintaining IAVA compliance.

  • Installing patches and running virus scans.

  • Configuring and troubleshooting development workstations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline

  • 4 years of functional experience in LINUX systems administration including: information security/authorization profiles; configuration of hardware devices; testing new software; managing servers, including installing and upgrading servers; monitoring system configuration; monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers.

  • Currently possess an active Secret clearance.

  • 3 additional years of direct relevant system administration experience may be substituted for the degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Force XXI Battle Command, Brigade and Below (FBCB2), Joint Capability Release (JCR), Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) and/or CPOF is preferred with understanding of the Network Operations Center (NOC), Lower TI, SEC lab architecture, IAVAM and PPSS processes.

  • Familiarity with CECOM Software Engineering Center Post Production Software Sustainment (PPSS) processes.

  • Willing to travel up to 10% CONUS to support operational requirements

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS; EDUCATION/TRAINING: BS, Computer Science preferred; 5-7 years experience may be substituted for formal degree. Minimum 6-8 years hands-on experience in server administration required. Professional training through industry recognized organizations strongly desired. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: * Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows servers, networking and applications, including but not limited to Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory. * Experience designing and supporting VMware infrastructure in a production environment, including but not limited to VMware vSphere, vCenter and virtual networking. * Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting and repairing hardware (i.e., PCs, laptops, servers, data center hardware, etc.). * Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols configuration and services such as DNS, DHCP and how to troubleshoot their functionality. SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Computer hardware, software and peripherals such as central processing units, servers, monitors, cables, network systems, printers, scanners and modems. * Techniques for explaining technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users. * Troubleshooting and solving hardware and software problems. * Instructing users on new or upgraded computer applications and hardware. * Communicating effectively with co-workers, subordinates, superiors, the general public, representatives of public and private organizations and others sufficient to exchange or convey information. * Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
