YOUR ROLE

Job Description- PSS is seeking a cleared Systems Administrator IV to join the team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The System Administrator will play a critical role in our mission to deliver innovative solutions, capabilities, and resources on behalf of a Government customer. The System Administrator will work with a focused and high performing team to engineer, build, deploy, and maintain multiple environments for the purpose of development, testing, and production hosting of custom enterprise business applications.

You will leverage your communication and engagement skills to collaborate with your teammates, who are also highly skilled Administrators, as well as partners and teammates ranging from Engineers, Support Analysts, Security Assessors, and Program Management stakeholders to ensure availability, performance, and quality of the systems/services you maintain.

As a Systems Administrator, you will:

  • Engineer, build, deploy, and maintain multiple environments for the purpose of development, testing, and production hosting of custom enterprise business applications

  • Install, configure, and network of UNIX and/or NT based platforms.

  • Create, modify and delete user accounts, perform system back-ups, and maintain system configuration files.

  • Install and configure hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages.

  • Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure.

  • Provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, email services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and operational reporting protocol for the purpose of communicating system and network health with upper management, government customers, mission partners, and agency executives

  • Maintain extremely accurate, high level reporting of all issues and current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

YOU BRING- Mandatory Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly

  • Must have current IAT Level II certification or higher

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field, and 10 years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server-based IT enterprise.

  • Fundamental understanding of operating systems and familiarity with either UNIX or NT commands or utilities at the user level

  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques

  • Knowledge of the current industry hardware, software, and equipment

  • Professional certification in one or more relevant technologies

  • Proficiency in the following skills:

  • SGI IRIX based Operating System

  • SGI systems with direct attached and FC SAN attached storage

  • Network Appliance clustered servers with direct attached and FC SAN storage

  • Network Appliance and SGI IRIX supported applications

  • Multivendor clustered filesystems such as GPFS, Lustre

  • Brocade FC switch network

  • Enterprise class arrays

  • Solid State Disk (SSD)

  • NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliance

  • HPSE

  • Data Domain and similar deduplication products.

  • Cloud based storage solutions such as HADOOP, and IBM BigInsights

  • Trouble ticket management utilizing Remedy
