The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is looking for a Systems Administrator to join the Technology & Information Management Division. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits including:

As part of our team you will get to:

  • Maintain and administer organizational software and hardware.

  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues

  • Plan future enhancements and upgrades to meet the customer needs.

  • Maintain compliance to legislative requirements, internal OSA policies, and DIT directives.

  • Identify and resolve system vulnerabilities

  • Manage other special divisional projects and initiatives as assigned.

  • Manage and maintain server and storage infrastructure.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of team.

  • Working knowledge of maintaining and upgrading Windows servers.

  • Experience performing server maintenance including tasks such as system patching to ensure systems are updated.

  • Experience troubleshooting specifically for Windows servers while creating and maintaining documentation for process and future solutions.

  • Experience administering and configuring Microsoft Office 365 services (Entra, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPlatform, InTune)

Management Preferences:

  • Experience with Nutanix infrastructure

  • Database administration

  • Cyber security experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive experience in systems software programming; OR

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive experience in systems software programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Office of the State Auditor uses the Merit-Based Recruitment & Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act (SHRA) with highly qualified individuals.
