Position Summary:

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for system administration, server support, applications installation, and overall systems health. This role works closely with Security Specialists, Technical Services Specialists, the Business Services team, and Network Administrators to support the solutions in a network environment including VMware, Citrix, databases, applications software, Windows, and Unix servers.

This role is responsible for systems health and storage utilization, monitoring services and enterprise systems and file systems and for protecting data and ensuring disaster recovery best practices are in place.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes superior guest service.

  • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.

  • Responsible for the design, configuration, maintenance and support of servers, collaboration systems, storage area network, enterprise backup, virtual servers, and systems management environments.

  • Presents information to management that may result in the purchase and installation of hardware, software, and equipment.

  • Authors, reviews, and maintains technical documentation and library of functional specifications.

  • Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.

  • Monitors Microsoft Windows/Unix performance and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. The position is also responsible for working with and becoming knowledgeable in other operating systems and platforms as needed to meet business requirements.

  • Is a solid technical contributor with knowledge and experience working with operating systems and related hardware and software.

  • Design: Works with management, peers, and vendors to design and implement hardware/software configurations, logical models, operational management models, and business continuity plans for systems under management.

  • Support: Works with management peers and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation, and fault root cause analysis for systems under management.

  • Technical Writing: Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems under management. Authors and peer-reviews knowledgebase articles documenting fault root causes and their respective resolutions.

  • Training: Provides and receives cross-discipline training to ensure maximum availability of systems under management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Actively pursue opportunities, as an individual and as part of a group, to improve knowledge, tools, and processes for systems under management.

  • Provides on-call 24/7 production support for designated systems.

  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related hardware, network and authentication services, and mass storage devices and their related technologies.

  • Experience in using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot medium complex problems.

  • Support established enterprise Shared Services Agreement and adheres to ongoing collaboration efforts.

  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, IT or related field, and 4 years of progressive IT experience.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of server operating systems, backup solutions, systems management, monitoring and expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Two Technical Certifications such as: MCP, Dell/EMC, Server+, Azure, VCTA, Network+, A+ preferred. Similar equivalent certifications considered.

~OR~

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, IT or related field, and four years of progressive Information Technology experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licensure in one or more jurisdictions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating systems, backup solutions, systems management, monitoring and expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Two Technical Certifications such as: MCP, Dell/EMC, Server+, Azure, VCTA, Network+, A+ preferred. Similar equivalent certifications considered.

~OR~

  • High School Diploma or GED and eight years of progressive Information Technology experience to include at least 2 years as a system administrator.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licensure in one or more jurisdictions.

  • Working knowledge of operating systems, backup solutions, systems management, monitoring and expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Two Technical Certifications such as: MCP, Dell/EMC, Server+, Azure, VCTA, Network+, A+ preferred. Similar equivalent certifications considered.

  • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.

  • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
