VGM Forbin is seeking a Systems Administrator I to join our growing team. A business's Information Technology needs are too important to be left to amateurs. Systems Administrator I Summary

The Systems Administrator I is responsible for maintaining existing networking clients, and building, maintaining, and growing relationships and IT opportunities with new and existing clients. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and recommending proper solutions for each client's challenge.

This position is responsible for continual support, as well as service performance and availability for environments within VGM Forbin's control. These positions ensure adherence to control and security standards, and present recommendations on the design, development and maintenance of the credit union's data, voice, collaboration, and communications networks.

Working Location: Iowa City, Iowa or Waterloo, IA preferred (remote and hybrid opportunities available)

Working Hours Classification: Full-time, 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday, with on-call as needed with periodic weekend deployments

Responsibilities/Duties of the Job

  • Serve as an expert for networking products and services.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, prospects, and teammates.

  • Assist customers with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.

  • Assist Forbin web support with DNS changes, website go-lives, certificate renewals and other requests.

  • Offer daily operations and system support to customers.

  • Verify functionality of hardware and software components.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues remotely, via phone or in person when needed.

  • Assist customers with computer problems and answer their questions.

  • Track billable and non-billable time in our ticketing system.

  • Support for all desktop hardware and software including PC's, MAC's, IOS, Android devices,

  • Windows 10, office 365 and knowledge of MDM systems.

  • Support Microsoft Windows Active Directory infrastructure including group policy.

  • Analyze and recommend solutions, upgrades and services for streamlining and process improvements.

  • Support of hardware/software maintenance to include troubleshooting, installation and upgrades for Workstations and servers.

  • Support of server backup software and hardware processes, maintenance, and monitoring.

  • Support Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.

  • Enable our clients to leverage technology to increase their business results

  • Recommend solutions based off knowledge, experience and best fit scenarios

  • Create, update, and maintain documentation of all systems and setups through Professional Service Automation and documentation systems

  • Provide support through Remote Monitoring and Management Systems and Remote Access tools

  • On-Call Support Rotation

Position Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 2+ years of IT experience as a Network Engineer/Administrator in an SMB/Enterprise environment. Inclusive of this experience qualified candidates have:
  • 1+ years supporting various Firewalls, routers, and switches
  • 2+ years of providing excellent desktop and end user support

Skills and Competencies:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities

  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide quality customer experience

  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical personnel

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Team oriented and motivated to support the success of themselves and others

Physical Requirements:

  • Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment

  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision

  • Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed
