GENERAL FUNCTION:

Hands-on technical systems administrator. Pro-actively administers corporate servers and applications. Primary focus is on day-to-day operational support issues and administrative tasks related to Microsoft Windows domain, servers, desktops, and applications. Effectively supports all broadcast operations. Follows all IT policies and procedures. After normal business hours response is part of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures seamless 24 by 7 operations for Microsoft Windows servers and corporate domain, databases, desktops, and third-party applications. Maximizes systems availability and minimizes outages by proactive administration and responding quickly and effectively to all outages.

  • Responds to and resolves server and application issues utilizing hardware and software diagnostic tools.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of detailed work flow on the corporate side of operations.

  • Participates in the formulation and implementation of all business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing; updates business continuity and disaster recovery plans and procedures as required ensuring efficient recovery strategies are in place and work; executes business continuity and disaster recovery plans as required.

  • Ensures optimum hardware and software system performance. Proactively responds to growing processing or storage requirements. Proactively reports and responds to software releases, version updates, hot fixes and issues and firmware updates.

  • Ensures day-to-day server, desktop, and application administrative tasks are documented, executed in a timely manner, and are successful. Monitors service requests, customer satisfaction, virus protection updates, security updates, hardware and software warranties, log files, licenses, and inventories.

  • Resolves quickly all operational issues, identifies root causes, researches and tests solutions, and documents and communicates all findings.

  • Evaluates and integrates software products and functionality that increases overall broadcast (audio and video) capabilities or automates tasks previously performed manually.

  • Coordinates with other team members and departments as necessary.

  • Effectively deploys resources.

  • Maintains hardware and software inventories including consumables).

  • Identifies best products, practices, makes recommendations, and coordinates as required with vendors.

  • Performs other duties and projects as required.

BACKGROUND/SKILLS:

  • Technical degree (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Systems) desired.

  • Technical certifications desired.

  • Networking experience desired.

  • Experience with imaging software, Adobe, video servers and routers and virus protection packages required.

  • Experience with encoding software and appliances required.

  • Social Media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter) delivery required.

  • Experience with Dalet, SGL, Harmonic systems desired.

  • PowerShell programming experience desired.

  • Hands-on hardware (PC, Server, network cabling) experience required.

  • Minimum three years hands on Microsoft Windows Server administration experience (in depth knowledge of Active Directory and Security) required.

  • Excellent trouble-shooting experience (hardware, software, TCP/IP, applications, OS) required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, remain standing for long periods of time, and work in confined spaces.

As an organization, we are consistently expanding our footprint in the contracting community.<br />  <br /> We are presently seeking an  <strong>Active Directory Systems Administrator </strong>with an active Top-Secret Clearance w/ SCI to join the Information and Technology Branch (ITB) Information Technology Infrastructure Division (ITID) at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC. The FBI ITB ITID mission includes the provision of comprehensive information technology services to all FBI personnel assigned to the FBI Headquarters, J. Edgar Hoover Building (FBIHQ) in Washington, D.C., Field Offices (FOs), Resident Agencies (RAs), and Legal Attaché (LEGAT) located overseas.<br /> In support of this mission, ITID is responsible for the management and support of the FBI’s IT infrastructure. Part of this infrastructure includes systems operating on four (4) enclaves (BlackNet, Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information), as well as the underlying facilities and transports to support them.<br /> <br /> <strong>Required—you ‘gotta have it:</strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Active <strong>Top-Secret w/ SCI </strong>security clearance at time of application.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Five (5) years of practical and current experience performing Active Directory administration as their primary job; and other relevant products such as PowerShell, Group Policy, SharePoint, Exchange, etc.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Minimum of five (5) years of troubleshooting AD; high proficiency with troubleshooting group policy-related incidents.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Experience with SQL; LDAP / Secure LDAP, and Dell Active Administrator.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Microsoft Advanced Group Management Policy (AGPM), Microsoft Resultant Set of Policy, Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM), or other monitoring tools.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Great customer coordination/interactions/follow-up skills.</li> </ul> <br /> <strong>Responsibilities—what your days will look like:</strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Expert practical experience in creating, modifying, and deleting group policy, troubleshoot group policy issues, determine the effect of all group policies on an account or account group, audit changes to group policy, and maintain a Group Policy Map.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Expert practical experience using Microsoft Active Directory Services, PowerShell, and/or other scripting tools.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Expert practical experience using monitoring tools (i.e. Microsoft Advanced Group Management Policy (AGPM), Microsoft Resultant Set of Policy, Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) and attributes).</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Advanced knowledge related to with Microsoft Windows Server (i.e. 2012 r2, 2008 r2, and 2003, including Active Directory).</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide quality/production methods to ensure existing group policies are not already in-place to implement user request or change.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide active follow-up with users and engineers to ensure actual change worked and did not cause of corrupt use profiles and permissions.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Identify impacts of AD, GPO, OU changes.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Ability to document order of applied change and criticality of sequenced process steps;</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Experience managing Domain replication.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Expert practical experience applying Federal Information Services Management Act (FISMA) rules to the AD environment.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Technical writing skills.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Ability to effectively share technical knowledge between government and contractor’s personnel.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Highly recommended have Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Security Plus (CompTIA)); preferably Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certifications (<strong>preferred</strong>).</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Able to administer PKI and certificate services (<strong>preferred</strong>).</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0;
