Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the administration of operating systems and databases that support mission critical regulated and non-regulated computer systems, as well as other high usage applications. Ensures computer system security and 24/7 availability.


Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
Assures quality customer service to all customers.
Assists with training and provides guidance to peers, as appropriate.
Implements and administers operating systems and databases.
Executes project plans.
Performs computer system implementations, upgrades, capacity plans, system testing, advanced problem resolution, performance monitoring and computer system performance.
Administers job and process scheduling for operating systems and applications.
Provides software and hardware recommendations to ensure application availability, security, and optimal performance.
Develops documentation, configuration and requirements of business critical computer systems.
Performs load testing and performance tuning of computer systems.
Works with hardware vendors to perform hardware upgrades or resolve operating system or application problems.
Evaluates and solves complex user requests related to applications on the servers, escalating more difficult requests to the appropriate staff.
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the corporation.
Complies with change control process through project completion.
Perform all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.



Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies preferred.
Knowledge of operating systems preferred.
Knowledge of disaster recovery processes and procedures preferred.
Knowledge of storage area networks preferred.
Knowledge of networking technologies preferred.
Knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange 2010, 2013, and/or 2016 preferred.

Licenses/ Certifications



Four years experience in the implementation and administration of operating systems that support business critical computer systems required.


Good communication and customer relation skills.
Ability to organize workload and work under pressure.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Must maintain confidentiality.
Strong computer skills.

VIEW JOBS 12/4/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-04T00:00 Overview Position Overview The Service Cashier/Administrator is responsible for processing payments for work completed or purchase of parts requests, proper reconciliation of repair orders and parts invoices, and the collection of money from Parts and Service transactions in the dealership. What are the day-to-day responsibilities? * Inspect every service repair order and/or parts invoice for proper completion and accuracy * Reconcile the repair orders by transferring the appropriate information from each repair order hard copy to the soft copies * Calculate the materials charge applicable for each order * Calculate the taxes to be charged on the categories of goods or services taxed in the local area * Collect the total retail charges from the customer in cash, check or authorized charge account * Provide the customer with the proper change and/or receipt * Complete the accounting section of the repair order as directed by the controller * Update the customer's service history file according to the procedures specific to the department's service history system * Deliver to the accounting department all repair orders and parts invoices closed during the business day * Control the keys associated with completed repair orders, return keys to the customer/or porter when bills are paid, and direct customers to where they may find their vehicle * File repair orders as directed by the service department manager * Answer the service department telephone, transfer calls to the people requested or best suited to take the calls, and take written messages when the needed personnel are not available * Control and turn into the business office any sublet bills associated with the repair orders * Ensure that customer complaints are handled promptly, with genuine concern and according to dealership guidelines * Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, it's employees, or customers * Perform any other administrative tasks as directed by management What are the requirements for this job? * High school diploma or equivalent * Ability to read, write, add, subtract, divide and comprehend written instructions and information * 6-12 months previous work experience (preferred) * Demonstrated customer service skills * Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills * Previous industry experience (preferred) * Ability to operate an automobile AutoNation is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
