We're hiring a Systems Administrator - Backups on our Service Delivery & Implementation team in one of the following Expedient markets: Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus or Indianapolis. Successful candidates will have strong passion to grow their technical knowledge and capability of a diverse variety of systems and platforms. The demand for data protection services from business to integrate backup & restoration with disaster recovery is growing and our customer's data is their #1 priority. This position will configure and implement our high volume data protection services (backups and restoration) on our managed cloud platforms, leveraging Commvault, VMware, and Microsoft virtual technology, and running Microsoft Windows Server OS and/or Linux distributions, Active Directory, MS Exchange or SQL databases.


  • Follow implementation processes and procedures to ensure quality Service Delivery standards are met.

  • Ensure installation, configuration, and final delivery of standard technical implementations by working with System Engineers providing solutions, systems, and managed services.

  • Communicate with project managers, customers, and internal staff at regular daily intervals to ensure expectations are set and that appropriate attention is being paid to customer projects.

  • Ensure appropriate documentation of the implementation is generated and maintained for effective hand-off and transition to the Operations Support Center (OSC).


  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years implementing and supporting Enterprise Data ProtectionBackup & Restore Solutions

  • 2+ years Systems Administrator or Engineer operating in a Microsoft or Unix/Linux environment

  • 2+ years experience with VMware or Microsoft virtualization in a production environment

  • Demonstrated level of competency with:

  • Enterprise backup solutions -- Commvault experience is a plus

  • Windows operating systems (Primary focus on Windows 2012R2/2016)

  • VMware vSphere v5.5 through v6.5

  • Familiarity with basic UNIXLinux commands (Primary focus on Red Hat and CentOS)

  • Familiarity with basic networking principles, TCP/IP routing and switching, VLANs and subnets, and firewall rules

  • Experience in a Service Provider environment is a plus

  • The ideal candidate may possess one or multiple industry technical certifications from IT-related vendors like Microsoft and VMware

  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug screen


  • Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding service and response time working with customers

  • Passion for learning technologies and curious for new ideas

The Performance Improvement Administrator will manage one unit which is responsible for working with Medicaid's managed care plans (MCPs) to support ODM's Quality Strategy and population-based health approach for Medicaid. This includes developing strategies to work with MCPs utilizing quality improvement science methods to improve M P performance. The priority areas for this work in Medicaid are related to behavioral health, women's health, infant mortality, chronic conditions, value-based purchasing strategies and opiate reduction initiatives. In this position, you will direct the development of data-driven improvement in conjunction with MCPs from a quality of care perspective, coordinating with other ODM bureaus and sections, as well as across State agencies and external entities. In addition, you will supervise one unit of programmatic management staff. Job Description: Under general direction, plans, evaluates and directs one unit or multiple teams related to multiple statewide components of Medicaid health care delivery systems (e.g., health systems program policy analysis and development): oversees and directs the development and implementation of data-driven outcome improvement initiatives to improve the performance of Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) managed care programs; directs research, analysis and evaluation of evidence-based best practices and applies findings to the development of quality performance goals for each managed care program; provides strategic leadership and oversight to align other value-based purchasing efforts and ODM's population-based quality strategy with ODM's managed care programs and to achieve the quality and performance goals of ODM; gathers and brings into line, internal business perspectives to identify opportunity areas and capabilities across multiple data sources and systems to be used in establishing a multi-year roadmap to improve health outcomes of Ohio Medicaid consumers; proposes sequencing and prioritization of initiatives to close the gap between ODM's managed care programs' current status and established goals; directs development of analytical tools and data visualization techniques to identify gaps in care and best practives among managed care plans and providers; analyzes and interprets federal and state regulations, rules and laws to ensure program compliance; supervises assigned staff (e.g., establishes unit goals in conjunction with bureau, section goals; assigns work and provides direction; reviews work and provides feedback; establishes goals and monitors and evaluates performance: encourages staff development; makes recommendations for hire; approves/disapproves leave requests; recommends disciplinary action).
