We're hiring a Systems Administrator - Backups on our Service Delivery & Implementation team in one of the following Expedient markets: Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus or Indianapolis. The demand for data protection services from business to integrate backup & restoration with disaster recovery is growing and our customer's data is their #1 priority. This position will configure and implement our high volume data protection services (backups and restoration) on our managed cloud platforms, leveraging Commvault, VMware, and Microsoft virtual technology, and running Microsoft Windows Server OS and/or Linux distributions, Active Directory, MS Exchange or SQL databases.
Follow implementation processes and procedures to ensure quality Service Delivery standards are met.
Ensure installation, configuration, and final delivery of standard technical implementations by working with System Engineers providing solutions, systems, and managed services.
Communicate with project managers, customers, and internal staff at regular daily intervals to ensure expectations are set and that appropriate attention is being paid to customer projects.
Ensure appropriate documentation of the implementation is generated and maintained for effective hand-off and transition to the Operations Support Center (OSC).
Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
2+ years implementing and supporting Enterprise Data ProtectionBackup & Restore Solutions
2+ years Systems Administrator or Engineer operating in a Microsoft or Unix/Linux environment
2+ years experience with VMware or Microsoft virtualization in a production environment
Demonstrated level of competency with:
Enterprise backup solutions -- Commvault experience is a plus
Windows operating systems (Primary focus on Windows 2012R2/2016)
VMware vSphere v5.5 through v6.5
Familiarity with basic UNIXLinux commands (Primary focus on Red Hat and CentOS)
Familiarity with basic networking principles, TCP/IP routing and switching, VLANs and subnets, and firewall rules
Experience in a Service Provider environment is a plus
The ideal candidate may possess one or multiple industry technical certifications from IT-related vendors like Microsoft and VMware
Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug screen
Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment
Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding service and response time working with customers
Passion for learning technologies and curious for new ideas
Flexibility to be available for occasional night and weekend implementation projects when required
