Do you love to stress hardware and find bugs? Help the Apple Watch HW team discover unexpected interactions among various hardware modules and sub-systems.

We are seeking a passionate electrical engineer to join the team. This isn't an ordinary validation engineering position, and it's beyond holding the scope probe.Do you want to put your creativity, hardware design, programming, and analytical skills to the test? Challenge yourself in new technical areas, and engage module teams to take on unusual problems that arise from integrating new technologies into the product.

Dive into hardware debug with the system engineer team. You will design stress tests to push our hardware to its limits, and ship the best possible Apple Watch to our customers. Scale from a rack running tens of units, to collecting data on thousands of units at the factory.If this captures your imagination, we want you to join our team. Key Qualifications

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a deep understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals?Passionate about discovering hardware limits, digging deeper to root cause, and finding solutions

Insightful use of data analysis, visualization, and automation in problem solving

Team collaborator, with effective leadership skills

Recommended 5 years of professional experience, but we encourage you to apply with equivalent academic experience


You will demonstrate creativity in problem solving, ability to think dynamically and outside of standard convention, and adapt quickly to new technical areas. We promote innovation and new technology to further improve Apple's hardware performance and user experience.


A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience is required.

Defines and documents RTL changes required for emulation/FPGA. Develops hardware and software collaterals and integrates it with the emulation/FPGA model. Tests and debugs the emulation/FPGA model and collaterals. Defines and develops new capabilities & HW/SW tools to enable acceleration of RTL and improve emulation/FPGA model usability for pre-Silicon and post-Silicon functional validation as well as SW development/validation. Develops improvements to usability by RTL validation and debugging of failing RTL tests on the emulation platform. Interfaces with and provides guidance to pre-silicon Validation teams for optimizing pre-Si validation environments, test suites and methodologies for emulation efficiency. Develops and applies automation aids, flows and scripts in support of emulation ease-of-use and improvement of equipment utilization. Qualifications PSC (Pre-Silicon strategic and capability) is horizontal organization within MVE (Manufacturing and Validation Engineering) that provides different type of platform (Emulation, FPGA and Virtual platform) for Pre-Silicon validation for internal and external customers. Before delivering our platform , we need to validation the quality of model. The successful candidate looking the functional specification of product , create detail test plan which describes what condition to tests etc. Based on the written or existing test case, candidate develop the test case in Python. Developed test cases are used to run Virtual platform for different segment of products, any test case failure, files the sighting. The system validation engineer perform detailed analysis of the issues, provide qualitative and quantitative input the issues to model developer. This role require broad understating of multiple architecture SOC, strong programming skills, involves software/hardware interactions and protocol knowledge. The successful candidate must be willing to work with team across multiple geographical and have hands-on involvement in develop, debug the test case for multiple platform. This role requires a BS and 4 years or a MS and 2 years of strong validation engineering experience in pre-silicon validation and debug.
