Lockheed Martin Space has an immediate opening in Englewood, CO for a System Safety Engineering Manager to develop and execute the system safety strategy for the development of future hypersonic and glide body technology programs that the nation urgently needs. This position will report directly to the System Safety Senior Manager of LM Space and will be responsible for the System Safety management strategy for the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program. You will also be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:
Develop the System Safety Program Plan, defining the system safety role across the program life cycle.
Act as the lead for Lockheed Martin System Safety in preparing presentations and participation in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
Collaborate with Army and Navy safety counterparts and support weapon systems working groups

A minimum of a BS in Safety, Engineering, Science or equivalent experience
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Must be experienced/fluent in two of the three; MIL-STD-882, Range Safety requirements/processes (EWR 127-1 and/or AFSPCMAN 91-710), and Domestic/International safety regulations.
Experience with System Safety contractual and/or SSC Command Media requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Experience leading diverse engineering teams to identify hazards, assess and mitigate associated risks encountered in the design, development, test, production, use and disposal.
