Supervises organizational activities related to patient safety. Acts as subject matter expert in the facilitation of root cause analysis and design/redesign projects and ensures that effective action plans are in place to protect the health and safety of patients and employees. Provides oversight of patient safety activities for the organization to include root cause analysis (RCA) and design/redesign activities.

REQUIRED

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or health care related field.

• Minimum of 3 years combined experience in health care field in the following functions: Quality Improvement or TJC coordination, either in hospital or ambulatory settings.

• Demonstrated abilities to lead/facilitate teams.

• Provides clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, objective judgement, self-direction and motivation.

• Ability to function effectively with a wide variety of disciplines, including physicians and nurses.

• Make presentations on topics related to quality patient safety and regulatory issues.

• Able to participate as part of a team to accomplish an assigned project.

PREFERRED

• Master of Science degree

• Supervisory experience

• Training as team leader and facilitator

• Certification in Health Care Quality.
