This position is for a Mechanical Test Engineer (MTE) in the Deep Space Exploration (DSE) organization at Lockheed Martin, which currently has hardware in development for three flight spacecraft programs: Lucy, Janus, and Dragonfly.

The DSE MTE will plan, develop, validate, and execute test plans and procedures that provide detailed step-by-step instructions to perform tests of electro-mechanical systems from the subsystem level up through the spacecraft flight system level during the Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations phase of these programs. This role will also function as a Certified Test Conductor (CTC) and lead the test team in the execution of these tests. This job will provide the applicant with a deep understanding of systems they test, system integration and test methods, and the use and coordination of our LM test labs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in an Engineering or closely related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical test or design engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to deliver products on schedule

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin processes and procedures
