In this role, you will be responsible for owning manufacturing process at contract manufacturing partners including laying out floor plan, setting up & Qualifying FATP lines, driving yield and UPH improvement, developing and implementing quality system, driving cost and cycle time reduction, and driving ramp and MP readiness. You will be a key member of the Technical Operations team and will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners driving NPI manufacturing process readiness to ensure new products ramped and launched on time.

System Industrial Engineer Responsibilities

  • Work with contract manufacturing (CM) partners on yield improvement and process troubleshooting

Work with CM partner to design and layout the FATP (final assembly, test, and pack-out) line by applying lean and Six Sigma technology

Develop manufacturing processes at the factory and drive line qualifications by working with cross-functional teams and CM partners

Work with cross-functional team (HW Engineering, Operations and manufacturing partner teams) to drive ramp and MP readiness

Drive cost and cycle time reduction through line balancing, and line automation

Drive FACA (Failure Analysis Corrective Action) and yield bridge to mass production

Influence product manufacturability, testability, serviceability, reliability, flexibility and cost effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional teams during early development and ramp

Ability to travel up to 30 to 40% to Asia Pacific region

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Operations engineering activities

Demonstrated technical skills and experience, including a detailed understanding of Final Assembly, Test, Pack and SMT processes

Experience working with China-based manufacturers, remotely and in-person

Experience in using process driven and analytical approaches to problem-solving (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.)

Working knowledge of GD&T, data analysis and statistics

Project management experience including Planning, Cost, & Delivery

Fluent in Mandarin and English

Experience in high volume mass production

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with optical systems and or Clean room setup

Experience with automated system bring up and qualification

Data analysis experience using JMP

PMP Certification

NX or ProE experience

Tolerance Analysis experience

Through organizations like the Telecom Infra Project and through direct engagement with individual operators and system integrators around the world, the team collaborates globally with the telecom industry to identify and execute a range of connectivity programs. If you have a passion for working with operators, ISPs and other industry stakeholders to drive innovative, cutting edge, cost efficient network infrastructure projects that will deliver internet access to the unconnected while significantly scaling current networks - then this is a great role for you. As the Global System Integrator Ecosystem Manager, you will work closely with the Facebook Connectivity team and TIP ecosystem community to develop telecom infrastructure integrating products, network services, end-to-end testing frameworks, and cloud services across access, transport, core networking, optical and satellite communication systems. In parallel, you will interface with industry leading partners, including hardware/software vendors and systems solution providers. Finally, you will work closely with network operators adopting telecom infrastructure to understand how Facebook and its partners' contributions can be of most impact to this diverse ecosystem. This position is full-time and is based in Menlo Park. Global System Integrator Ecosystem Manager Responsibilities * Drive Facebook's efforts across TIP programs in collaboration with ecosystem partners to develop global, and regional partner strategies for delivering next generation disaggregated telecom infrastructure solutions. Lead development of global programs expanding the System Integrator ecosystem to drive results across Product Integration, Network Services, End-to-End Testing, and Cloud Services. Question the status quo, use your strategic vision for the connectivity technology landscape to shape and define Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) efforts across access, transport, and core domains from the perspective of Telecom System Integrators. Establish and develop personal and functional credibility as a process architect with key leaders of industry partners and operators for Product Integration, Network Services, End-to-End Testing, and Cloud Services. Define cutting edge telecom network deployment integration approaches and plan trials for innovative infrastructure solutions that will help deliver on the vision for wider scale telecom infrastructure adoption. Advocate internally at Facebook, through TIP, and the partner community at large on how to successfully deploy new telecom hardware and software contributions across the industry. Create white papers and blog posts to share with the broader community with the goal to introduce and help drive adoption of TIP infrastructure. Stay abreast of developments in the telecom domain including technology R&D, industry standards, use-cases, hardware/software evolution and share that knowledge with the team. Educate Facebook teams about how to define and contribute technology into TIP, highlight achievements/impact of contributions and share developments coming from partners. Support the direction and expansion of the team, helping to scope future roles as the charter of the team grows. Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time. Minimum Qualifications * 10+ years experience as a solutions architect, product manager, technical marketing manager, R&D manager in one or more of the telecom infrastructure system integration areas for Product Integration, Network Services, End-to-End Testing, and Cloud Services. Firm understanding of wireless telecom infrastructure, system architecture, network design principles, wireless spectrum bands coupled with expertise integrating hardware and software especially for radio access solutions. Experience in partner management, a track record of influencing change in organizations, and experience synthesizing and executing against problems and timelines. Familiarity with evolution and recent development of cellular 4G/5G networks including 3GPP standards (Rel-15/16). Experience leading system development for Product Integration, Network Services, End to End Testing, Cloud Services, identifying ecosystem partners, investigating performance issues and making necessary trade-offs in order to architect complete infrastructure solution. Experience understanding network operator deployment scenarios such as different geographies, population densities, indoor vs. outdoor, scope of ARPUs and uses cases such as fixed/mobile access, enterprise/public access to drive development of flexible, cost-effective and open infrastructure. Experience in leading partner development of telecom hardware, protocol software, network management systems, edge content caching systems and applications critical for adoption of the complete solution. BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience. Interpersonal skills, having demonstrated collaborating within cross-functional teams and business audiences, including the C-suite.
