BIT Systems Inc., a CACI company in Sterling Virginia, is seeking a Systems Engineer excited about using the latest technologies available. The team is growing and looking to add to our existing team of engineers. The right candidate will be an experienced System/Software/RF Engineer. What You'll Get to Do:

  • Research, document, develop, and deploy hardware and software solutions in a continuously evolving development environment.

  • Work with a team of ten software and hardware engineers to bring newest COTS and open source technologies into the IC.

  • Have system engineering experience in addition to RF and Linux knowledge.

  • Work with a multi-disciplined team of RF, DSP, Software, Hardware, and System engineers.

  • Strong team skills with an ability to take ownership of a problem and see it through to completion are desired.

  • Support the Design, Document, Test, and Delivery RF Processing solutions to customer locations

  • Plan, Monitor, and Report program cost and schedule status

  • Engage customer with new ideas and submit white papers

  • Provide ROM and RFP responses

  • Support development team to ensure integration of hardware and software components is seamless

  • Support RMF documentation process including test creation and verification of developed environments

  • Test developed tools and techniques

  • Installs, configures and tests software packages

  • Rack and cable of system hardware

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Security+

  • Bachelors of Arts or Bachelors of Science in an engineering field

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in an engineering field

  • Experience performing functional requirements decomposition, traceability, and management

  • Experience preparing for and leading customer control gates such as Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews, System Requirement Reviews, Pre-Ship Review, and on-site in briefings

  • Experience in coordination and installation of systems to customer locations

  • Technical writing skills to include: requirements documentation, concepts of operation, software release notes, user guides, and maintenance manuals

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance

  • Perform traditional System Engineering tasks (requirement creation/management, create and maintain technical documentation, lead technical discussions, etc.)

  • Ability to assist the development team with software integration activities

  • Ability to work independently

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • 1-3 years of related software development experience

  • Familiarity with HP hardware and firmware upgrade

  • Light knowledge of Java/ C++ /Web/java scripting is helpful

  • Knowledge RMF process

  • Experience with digital signal processing hardware and software

  • Working knowledge of RF collection systems

  • Linux experience highly desired

What You'll Get to Do: * Handle multiple projects and activities simultaneously. * Assist with planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet project objectives in a timely, cost-effective fashion. * Analyze, design, develop, and maintain products; assist in commercialization. * Assist in identifying and organizing requirements. * Apply usability procedures and principles at project or product-line level or through customer input. * Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing; set up and run laboratory simulations. * Design testing procedures and coordinate testing. * Conduct tests, document results, and develop client presentation. * Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and other artifacts. * Evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce and iterate development plans. * Train and support clients and field representatives. * Identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. * Contribute to design standards and support design reuse. * Author technical reports, papers, articles, presentations, and patents. You'll Bring These Qualifications: * BS degree in mechanical engineering (ABET/EAC Accredited). * 5+ Years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering and design * Proficient using CAD software (SolidWorks, ProEngineer, AutoCAD, etc.) and Microsoft Office * Knowledge of drafting/drawing standards (ANSI, DOD, MIL) * Generate mechanical drawings for use in sheet metal and machining operations. * Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies and products. * Draws finished designs from sketches utilizing solid models and layouts. * Must be mechanically inclined. * Interpersonal skills required to work with others and communicate effectively. * Exceptional attention to detail. * Hands-on fabrication and assembly experience. * Experience with machine shop operations and manufacturing process. * Ability to work under pressure for quick-reaction projects. * Knowledge of mechanical standards for materials & fasteners. * Ability to work with minimal supervision. * Ability to conceive & propose solutions to complex mechanical design problems. * Must be organized.
