System Engineer / Technical Writer - Level 1 - Dept 02 - 038

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

• Provide technical writing support to the ICAM/Zero Trust team
• Support the development of ICAM products to support Zero Trust(ZT) security implementations
• Work within the ZT ICAM team and with the existing ICAM capability teams to document release notes, installation and user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and plans, concept of operations, troubleshooting steps, and content for portal implementations
• Other duties will include, researching, documenting technical decisions, capturing meeting notes, establishing processes, and managing Confluence site
• Provide technical expertise in industry standards, and policies
• The candidate will also assist the software developers with tracking requirements, sprint planning, and scheduling, support to design changes, and testing support 

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• ​​​​​​​Experience with researching to align technical implementation to NIST and government standards
• Able to clearly translate technical concepts, architecture and design concepts into written documentation
• Able to manage wiki sites, blogs, XML/HTML, Confluence, and JIRA content
• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and work independently with minimum supervision to meet deadlines
• Experience with SW development methodologies
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary team to capture content for documentation
• Experience developing briefings and documents for senior-level management
• Demonstrated engineering experience on programs with requirements, functional analysis, and allocation, conducting system requirement reviews, developing CONOPS and system architectures 
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as a group

EDUCATION: 

• Seven (7) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• ​​​​​​​Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, 12 years’ experience with no degree
