The purpose of the System Engineer is to administer, monitor and maintain the company's network, systems and voice systems. This position will report to the Director of IT. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance and monitoring of server systems, LAN/WAN, and voice systems. Provide support to the help desk staff. This individual must have the ability to document network and system topologies and configurations.

  • Manage and configure company Switches & Firewalls.

  • Monitor network, voice and server systems.

  • Manage company data backups.

  • Provide support to the help desk.

  • Setup and manage Virtual Private Networks.

  • Configure, administer and maintain Virtualization environments (VMWare/Hyper-V).

  • Create and maintain necessary technical support documents.

  • Provide network/system utilization and security reports.

  • Assist in vulnerability assessments

  • Active Directory / Exchange administration and configuration

  • Research and evaluate new technologies related to computer networking


  • 5+ years as a Network/Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 2008, 2012, or 2016 server environment

  • Substantial knowledge of and experience working in a Networking environment and Windows platforms.

  • Ability to provide Cisco switch & ASA firewall administration. Solid understating of Cisco IOS, VLAN, VTP, routing etc.

  • Experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 Active Directory server platforms that meet Microsoft best practices.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016 email platforms (Exchange migration experience is a plus).

  • Experience in virtualization VMWare ESX Servers (4.0 and above) / Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • Strong knowledge of NetApp and other storage solutions.

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal English communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills.
