And it is how we'll continue to build a safer, smarter and more connected mobility experience for all people.Role SummaryThe System Engineer understands the systems requirements and supports all the functional disciplines - e.g. electrical, mechanical, software the design and validation of the end product that meets the customer requirements. The Systems Engineer should be familiar with the S.I.M.I.L.A.R concept of systems engineering.Key Responsibilities*
  • Responsible for all relevant system activities * Supports thesolution definition, technical feasibility analysisand architecture specification * Supports bi-directional traceability between system requirements and input requirements, test cases, decomposed discipline requirements, system architectural design, as applicable * Responsible to define the system's context and boundary diagrams for the complete system * Responsible for the key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures that the deployed system works as intended to meet the system requirements * Ensures that the system design is agreed and communicated to all stakeholders using the approved tools and methods * Supports Verification testing at the bench, system, and vehicle levels * Supports all Validation testing ED, DV, and PV activities * Supports the hardware, software, function, system test, manufacturing and purchasing teams * Drives, promotes, and defends the System Engineering Line strategy within the project in accordancetopolicies, procedures and operational guidelines related toMagna (GPEP) andestablished quality management systems (IATF 16949, ASPICE, ISO26262FuSa, ISO 21434 Cyber Security)Key Qualifications/RequirementsEducation/Experience * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent (Master's preferred)* 4-8 years' relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) for automotive electronics serial development projects (mandatory).Additional Information08--Engineering F--Permanent/Regular

The team is part of the Advanced Propulsion Technologies organization, and is responsible for developing the next generation of engines and associated technologies. This challenging position combines multiple engineering disciplines including combustion, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and controls. The candidate should understand in detail how these areas relate to engine efficiency, performance, and emissions. Typical duties will include the planning and execution of development activities, and utilizing a combination of simulation and laboratory facilities as appropriate (e.g. 1D and 3D engine simulations, engine dynamometer, vehicle chassis dynamometer, test stands, etc.). Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering from and ABET accredited program * 1 year of experience in engine testing and/or combustion system development experience * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and online Google products * Outstanding communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills * Expert understanding of combustion and engine dynamometer instrumentation Preferred Qualifications: * Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering * PhD desired on topic related to combustion in engines * Experience using MATLAB / SIMULINK * Familiarity with 1D and 3D combustion codes (e.g. Wave, GT-Power, AVL Boost, Kiva, STAR-CD, Converge, CHEMKIN) * Experience with new/novel combustion approaches such as Advanced Compression Ignition, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition, Prechamber Ignition, Spark Assisted Compression Ignition, or Plasma Ignition systems * Able to manipulate and analyze large, complex sets of data Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Auburn Hills MI
