Provides technical leadership to customers and supporting teams with in-depth knowledge of operating systems, networking, storage, security, virtualization, clustering and high availability concepts. Performs advanced functions on multiple Linux-based operating systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs advanced Linux systems administration.
Performs complex proactive maintenance activities.
Creates and maintain documentation for Tier I-II activities.
Plans and executes complex firmware and operating systems updates during coordinated service outages.
Executes and maintains procedures for Clustered or High Availability implementations.
Implements, tests and executes disaster recovery plans.
Performs server provisioning, including provisioning of supported virtualization technologies.
Assists with application requirements and installation.
Provides supporting documentation of server environment.
Develops processes and procedures for operational support.
Provides advanced support administration and problem management.
Performs on-call and escalation procedures.
Performs problem management processes to provide continuous service improvement
Provides support in changes to be implemented by Tier lI team to resolve identified issues.
Supports high-level migration functions and technical coordination.
Defines inputs and outputs.
Defines project inputs.
Administers virtualization for Linux-based implementations.
Escalates incident ticket path from Tier I and Tier Il.
Documents post-incident response and root cause analysis.
Accepts and routes service requests as required.
Responds to requests from other support groups.
Follows change management process (peer reviewed by Tier lII or Tier lV resource).
Coordinates service outages with Service Delivery Managers as required.
Provides operational efficiency for and documents new OS versions and platforms.
Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.

Education and/or Experience
5 years experience in the following:
Handling incidents from customer and automated sources.
Completing service requests related to managed Linux resources.
Linux systems administration, including provisioning.
Support administration and problem management.
Client migrations and project coordination.
Performance and capacity analysis and planning.
Technical solutions planning.
Design and development of administration processes.
Advanced experience with multiple Linux-based operating systems from Red Hat and Suse as well as other open-source distributions; experience with other UNIX based operating systems is a plus.
Advanced experience with multiple hardware platforms.
Expert knowledge of networking, storage, security, virtualization, clustering and high availability concepts.
Expert knowledge of system administrative practices in large scale data center environments.
May consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
Intermediate to high level knowledge of Windows Administration.
Intermediate to high level knowledge of Network Administration.
Expert level knowledge of LINUX.
