Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a System Engineer I to join our team! This position will provide system engineering support to software engineering and software development projects. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of software engineering and software development project teams.

Duties include:

  • Planning and engineering of systems infrastructure.

  • Implementing and designing hardware and software.

  • Monitoring the performance of systems.

  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

  • Requires at least a bachelor's degree in systems engineering or a related field.

  • Requires at least 0 to two years of experience in systems engineering or a related field.

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within software engineering.

  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Works under general supervision.

  • Must be US Citizen.

This position will provide logistics engineering and product support analyses tasks for our customer. This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal. What will you be doing? This position will be a key member of the logistics/documentation/engineering team. Duties include: * Coordinate, plan, edit, and prepare technical reports and/or articles for the Journal of Army Science * Perform research, review specifications, and use "hands-on" approach in the preparation, amendment, change or revision of publications in commodity fields such as, weapons and ammunition, as required to publish technical reports * Edit technical reports * Provide support to the Subject Matter Expert (SME) * Forecasting of spare parts * Estimation of life cycle costs as they relate to maintenance * Development of maintenance concepts that optimize system readiness and minimize life cycle cost * Development of troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures along with preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance procedures for assigned systems * Assessment of required tools, test equipment, skills, facilities, and other resources required to perform maintenance of systems in both field and sustainment environments * Attend Logistics demonstrations of systems and hardware in order to assess adequacy and evaluate the achievement of maintainability goals * Analysis of system failures and trends * Assessment and reporting /documentation of safety concerns * Development of materiel change, reset, overhaul and other problems to reverse the effects of combat stress on systems. * Support development, formulate operational maintenance procedures, and provide provisioning inputs to the assigned systems * Shall prepare source data for Operator & Maintainer Technical Manuals, attend meetings/reviews, participate/support User Tests, Logistics Demonstration (Log Demo), and TM validations/verifications, and provide maintenance engineering input as required What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful? This position will require the following skillsets and experience: * Bachelor's degree required * Experience with logistics engineering * Experience with lifecycle planning tools /applications (e.g., COMPASS and Power LOG-J) * A fundamental understanding of 3-D modeling software for technical manual development a plus * Experience with DoD and US Army engineering and publication standards and processes a plus * A fundamental understanding of publishing technical manuals and maintenance standards a plus * 2-4 years of experience with complex systems and documentation * Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills * Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team * Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills * Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance UTRS is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
