System Engineer

Assured Information Security (AIS) is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team! This contract includes the operations, sustainment, maintenance, repair and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). It also includes support to other key tasks for DISA, including the transformation of its operational mission through innovation and support to mission partners. Active Secret clearance is required.

This is a hybrid position in the Fort Meade, MD or Scott AFB area. The candidate must live within driving distance of either location, as they will need to be in the office as needed.

How You'll Succeed

You'll succeed by supporting the End-to-End Visibility (E2E) tenet on the Special Projects Team. As a core team member, you'll support E2E's vision of architecting and designing single systems that provide a holistic single-pane-of-glass (dashboard) interface providing overall system status. You will also work with internal development and implementation teams, operational end users and support teams to gather data, define requirements and use cases, perform gap analysis, develop functional and design specifications and test plans. You'll also be responsible for defining and configuring Kibana Dashboards. In addition, you'll:

• Conduct tasks related problem diagnosis and solution design, integration and test preparation, risk assessment and mitigation planning and visualization configuration.

• Work closely with end users, software, data and dev ops engineers and data scientists.

• Execute engineering activities, requirements analysis, implementation planning, third party coordination, integration and test, documentation, deployment and system assessment.

• Configure Kibana visualizations in system GUI and KQL.

• Employ an SE approach for systems planning, design, execution and sustainment.

• Assist in defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models through use of SE tool.

• Report the technical status of product development to assigned leads on a consistent basis.

• Estimate level of effort (hrs/days/resources) to outline and update a project schedule.

Your Expertise

• You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4+ years of professional experience.

• You have an active DoD Secret clearance.

• You have a Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification within 60 days of start date.

• You have experience in design, development and delivery of data driven operations capabilities.

• You have 3+ years of systems engineering experience.

• You have knowledge of SQL or KQL.

• You have experience developing a software-based operational system.

• You have experience developing formal DoD requirements.

• Requirements traceability for software systems (RVTM).

• You have experience writing software systems engineering documents (SDP, etc.)

• You have experience developing software interface documents (IDDs/ICDs).

• You have experience developing detailed plans/schedules in support of technical assignments.

• You have knowledge of web services: API, REST.

US Salary Range: $81,250 - $146,875

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
