Strategic Professional Resources, Inc. (SPR) is seeking a highly qualified Systems Engineer to perform systems analysis and development of system specifications for software applications and systems and other engineering artifacts supporting complex integrated planning and analysis functions. Work involves knowledge and understanding of mission workings, problems/needs, technological resources and the ability to synthesize all system aspects financial, logistics, technical and innovation.

Major Job Activities:

  • Provide core engineering services supporting the design and acquisition of ISPAN systems including systems requirements analysis, system design, software requirements analysis, software design, software and system validation and verification, integration, implementation, operation, and sustainment of complex systems.

  • Provide engineering and technical advice and assistance for customer requirements definition and problem definition. Review and help build statements of work, requests for proposal and engineering estimates. Advise and participate on source selection teams, ensuring adequacy of technical content of contractor proposals.

  • Provide engineering, architecture, security and Integrated Product Teams (IPT) support by aiding users in writing requirements; support schedules; assist in hardware and/or software life-cycle replacements/upgrades; perform or review trade studies; perform or review cost/benefit/risk analyses; identify, track and provide solutions for IPT risks; provide leadership and assistance of performance or other problem "trouble-shooting"; and support configuration management effort.

  • Conduct research, development and prototyping of integration approaches and tools so as to reduce risk, increase knowledge and validate strategies in the integration of systems across the MPAS enterprise.

  • Support the delivery of software, its installation, configuration and testing; problem resolution and maintenance including: all procedures and timelines necessary to achieve approval to test and promote new or updated software to production following processes stipulated by the government.

  • Assess items such as processes, products, contractor-developed solutions, baseline changes, IT Work Requests/Asset Management System Change Requests, etc. Provide comments and recommendations as necessary.

  • Work with the Information Assurance (IA) team to support security requirements and accreditations.

The ideal candidate demonstrates mental precision and attention to detail coupled with the ability to articulate both broad-brush and detailed technical subjects without pause.

Requires current technical knowledge and experience in the following areas: virtual machines, VMWare, databases, Weblogic, security certificates, Java and other current softwares.

Desired Education: Master's Degree in a related technical area. Other certifications desirable

Desired Experience: 5-10 years of experience that involved systems analysis and development within the DOD Knowledge and experience with military systems, experience with USSTRATCOM-specific systems.
