Position Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented System Development Lead to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The System Development Lead will join a team that is designing, testing, and integrating hardware and software tools for Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Data Link integration and test. The candidate will lead development teams to design, deliver, and update test tool products.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

  • Candidate must have 5 to 10 years of experience working within a highly technical development project-oriented environment.

  • Candidate must have a working familiarity of system design and development aspects, to include mechanical design, circuit board design, RF circuit design, firmware development, software (front end and back end) development.

  • Candidate must have experience providing technical guidance to development and inspire team members.

  • Candidate must have experience communicating with customers and management.

  • Candidate must possess ability to determine technical direction and strategy for solving complex, significant or major issues.

  • Candidate must have experience conducting design and peer reviews and technical meetings.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively collaborating within a team environment.

  • Candidate must possess an attention to detail and quality and strong ability to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadline and budget guidelines.

  • Candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be a motivated independent learner.

  • Candidate must be highly organized with a strong technical background.

  • Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge with:

  • RF Data Link systems

  • Digital signal processing

  • Agile methodologies, i.e. Scrum

  • CMMI processes

  • Defect and issue tracking and project management tools such as Jira

  • Source control management tools such as Subversion and Git

  • Test planning and execution

  • Systems engineering concepts

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR The chosen candidate will support Linux System Administration (SA) and Cybersecurity duties for a government Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) lab operating tactical HW in a Test and Analysis environment. Activities the System Administrator will be expected to execute may include, but are not limited to: * The selected candidate will support lab infrastructure layout and design, installation of cables/equipment, network integration, operating system installation, and necessary management and maintenance to sustain a classified Authority to Operate (ATO) for the lab facility. * The selected candidate will primarily support the system administration of the lab's Linux operating system environments (mostly CentOS), however, the candidate may also support other operating system environments as well. * The selected candidate will also support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes of Linux operating systems including periodic vulnerability scans, ensuring the Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA's), and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) are applied periodically to maintain required cybersecurity posture and necessary documentation. * The selected candidate will also support the lab's services such as the domain controllers, group policy, active directory, and account management for Linux systems. This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8 hours. REQUIREMENTS FOR A SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR * BS degree or equivalent work experience. * 3 - 10 years Linux Systems Administration * Active DOD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain (US Citizenship is required) * Prior tactical SA experience in the HWIL lab environment. * Experience with Windows and Virtual Machine (VM) environments. * Experience with networking and configuring network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls. * Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and co-workers. * Red Hat/CentOS Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems. * Authentication against a Windows domain controller. * Configuration and automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Puppet * Bash scripting * Automated OS installation * SUDOERS * Local YUM repo setup * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE * Prior working experience with the IAMD Battle Command System (IBCS). * Experience with NetApp or other similar data storage appliances. * Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) or prior DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) processes.
