System Calibration Engineer

Apple is seeking a highly motivated, energetic System Calibration Engineer to ensure excellent quality and performance of our products from design through manufacturing and in customer's hands! The role requires an understanding of design tolerances in cameras, displays, and sensors, to calibration best practices, reliability testing, and in-field calibration methods. We need someone who has proven these capabilities through successfully shipping complex and robust products. You should have highly analytical skills in system design parameters, data analysis, and reporting clear conclusions with strong written and verbal skills.

Key Qualifications

  • Expertise calibration and testing methodology for optical and non-optical sensors, displays

  • Excellent understanding of the performance of these technologies through reliability

  • Proven record of shipping well calibrated high volume products

  • Solid understanding of statistics

  • Experience with LabView/Python/Matlab scripting for automated data collection and analysis

  • Experience with FEM simulations using COMSOL or ANSYS

  • Strong verbal communication skills across organizations

  • Excellent written skills for clear reporting of data analysis and conclusions

  • Ability to travel 20%-50% time

Description

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for defining end to end system tolerance stack-ups, reviewing performance specs, and manufacturing plans, to determine test and calibration requirements. This role is highly cross functional, working with our EE, ME, SW, and test engineers to define custom testing instrumentation.

Education & Experience

BS/MS in relevant field (EE, ME, Physics) 5+ years work experience
