System Architect

System Architect Overview:

The System Architect is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions.  The System Architect must be able to interface with business stakeholders and understand their short-term and long-term plans and goals.  The System Architect will advise on tools, infrastructure, and software to create a framework to address business needs.  They will consult with and advise project teams on the framework specifics needed to deliver successful outcomes.  The System Architect will also assist the operational teams with identifying and resolving issues when needed. This is a hybrid position, and we are looking for this person to come into our Cary, NC office 3 times a week

Duties and Responsibilities of the System Architect:

• Translate business problems and strategy into technical solutions.

• Gain understanding of the current application infrastructure and suggest changes.

• Define and document best practices and patterns regarding application design.

• Develop prototypes to validate and demonstrate technical patterns.

• Assist in development lifecycle when necessary.

• Assist is troubleshooting and supporting system issues when necessary.

• Sharing experience and knowledge with other team members.

• Some Evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines or solve specific problems.

Skills and Experience of The System Architect:

• 5+ Years experience in Software Design and Development

• Experience with microservice architecture

• Experience in Software Quality Assurance or Verification of Release Builds

• Experience with CI/CD pipeline development

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

• Experience with Solution Development using cloud technologies such as: Lambda, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, Karka (MSK)

• Experience with Database Technologies: SQL, Snowflake, dbt

• Experience with Programming Languages such as: Python, Java

• Experience with Miscellaneous tools: Git/Gitlab Ultimate, Docker, Postman

• Solid oral and written communication skills

• Highly motivated team player with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and become a knowledge leader

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time
