Hello, I have a new requirement System Analyst @ Rockleigh, NJI appreciate your business and would like to continue working with you
Position: System Analyst
Location: Rockleigh, NJ
Document legacy application core functionalities.
Determine which of those functionalities remain relevant.
Create functional specification and logical data model for relaunch of application.
Note: Both spec and data model to be technology agnostic.
Application has been in use for 10+ years. Current frontend is built on deprecated technologies.
Most business logic is implemented on Oracle backend. Over the course of the applications lifetime, it has been supported by various teams and individuals. Reliable documentation is lacking.
Technical SME is available on a limited basis for support. It should be understood that the task is not to port application from legacy to current platform. Rather it is to understand just enough of the current state in order to make quality recommendations for relaunching application.
This is not a code refactoring exercise. Rather it is an exercise in understanding high-level functionality to realize better functional organization and eliminate irrelevancy and redundancy within the application.
Successful candidate possesses ability to:
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Think analytically and solve problems.
Work independently to reverse-engineer code to understand application without existing, reliable documentation.
Synthesize learnings into thorough but high-level understanding of current state.
Exercise judgment to avoid over-involvement in details of current state implementation.
Reverse-engineer Oracle code and objects to derive and document functional significance.
Make recommendations, and create functional documentation and data model based on analytical assessments.
