The City of Aurora is accepting applications for the position of System Analyst II with a focus on the administration of Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Record Management Systems (RMS) in the Information Technology Department.

Under the direction of the Director of IT Operations, the System Analyst II is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all Law Enforcement or Public Safety systems supported by the Information Technology Department.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Provide support for Law Enforcement Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), and Mobile Computer Terminals (MCTs); Troubleshoot dispatch system and hardware issues and remain involved in resolution process; Troubleshoot National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) issues and remain involved in resolution process; Act as a liaison between customers and end users, in order to assist in the implementation of program changes, updates, corrections and other system fixes; Responsible for routine and scheduled backups and assisting with updates, patches, or configuration changes; Investigate and correct data errors, including requests for system modifications by the vendor to enhance data capturing processes and prevent future occurrences; Work with the vendor and IT teams to develop detailed plan to prevent application and performance; Create and maintain tools and scripts needed to automate administration tasks related issues; Document issue resolution in the Help Desk system and implement best practices and procedures; Provide detailed analysis and feedback to management for escalated issues; Other related duties as assigned.

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related fields from an accredited college or university or at least four (4) years of experience in a related field, preferably in a municipality; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five (5) years years experience with both SQL and Power BI. Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license.

Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug screen, and background check.

This is a full-time, union represented position. Working location would be based out of City Hall or the Police Department, occasionally travelling to various city managed buildings. Starting hourly pay is $41.52/hr., depending on experience and qualifications.
