You'd like to do this

System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications in the Rockville closed area.

  • Support multiple systems for 3-5 programs in the restricted area.

  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.

  • Monitor system resources and implement necessary changes to support ongoing operations.

Security Compliance:

  • Work with the ISSO and ISSM to enforce security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations and organizational standards.

  • Support ISSO's regular security audits, as needed.

  • Work with the ISSO and ISSM to effectively respond to any security incidents, prepare associated documentation, and implement corrective actions.

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and account issues.

  • Collaborate with the technical program team to resolve application issues and system optimization requests.

  • Perform document transfer in/out of the closed area to support deliverables and development activities.

  • Train users on system functionality and security best practices.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Review and maintain backup and recovery procedures for critical systems and data.

  • Test and validate backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

Network Administration:

  • Configure and manage network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Monitor network performance and implement necessary changes to optimize efficiency.

Documentation:

  • Maintain and update the detailed system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant personnel.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support development programs.

  • Work closely with security personnel and the project team to evaluate requests for new applications are implemented in accordance with security requirements.

You're required to have this

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Required certification for privileged access: IAT Level II-III (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CASP+CE, or CISSP)

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, preferably in a government or defense-related environment.

  • Experience with Windows operating systems.

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Strong knowledge of system and network administration.

  • Familiarity with security protocols, encryption techniques, and vulnerability assessment tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or equivalent

  • Systems: Windows server, git, gogs, Codesonar, Libero, HDL Designer, Modelsim, scitools understand, backup applications, MS office pro, VScode, softconsole, matlab, solidworks, Altium designer, Java, IE, Edge, Chrome, Keypass, Notepad
