System Administrator is responsible for supporting and working with all users to ensure that their IT needs are met. The System Administrator will also work on assigned projects to continually improve the IT Department and the organization. Primary function will be to maintain Microsoft Domain, VDI, Basic Networking, Security, Virtualization, Storage, Backups, Disaster Recovery, Datacenter, WAN/LAN, Linux systems and any other technology that is required for production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Address user and production problem and/or needs related to IT systems.

  • Complete assigned projects.

  • Complete major system updates, implementation and maintenance on all systems.

  • Prepare and maintain user equipment as needed.

  • Provide leadership by providing insight and guidance to other System Administrators as business solutions are evaluated and implemented.

  • Provide technical guidance to the IT team.

  • Document resolution steps in our knowledge base.

  • Manage projects from concept to completion, including: vetting project ideas, gathering requirements, service design, transitioning services into operations, training and communicating effectively throughout the project life-cycle.

  • Drive continual improvement in quality, productivity, efficiency and cost.

  • Partner with all departments of the organization.

  • Provide escalation support for Service Desk incidents, problems, and requests.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of systems administration experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business (Management Information Systems), Computer Science, Business (Other) or equivalent is preferred.

  • Demonstrated background in Systems Engineering/Administration including Design, Transition, and Operations/Support of IT services and underlying technologies: Virtualization Platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), Database Platforms (MS SQL, MySQL, Cloud DBs), Server OS Platforms (Window Server), Cloud Applications (Google G Suite, Identity Management, etc.), Backup Software (Veeam, etc.), Cloud Infrastructure ( Google Cloud), Desktop Virtualization Platforms (VMware Horizon), Storage Infrastructure (Traditional SAN, VMware Virtual SAN), Server Infrastructure.

  • Successful candidates are able to synthesize business requirements, IT Service Strategy, and industry standard frameworks, independently, to make good decisions and create excellent solutions, with limited direction.

  • Computer experience

  • Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment of continuous change and challenges.

  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends according to schedule.
