System Administrator

Position Description

Under the general direction of the Senior System Administrator, the System Administrator performs a variety of technical tasks in the area of computer systems and networks.

Summary of Job Functions

• Participate in supporting and maintaining all Server Operating Systems and services

• Maintain system patching, ensure current backups, analyze systems for performance tuning

• Perform root cause analysis on incidents on supported systems hardware and OS/software

• Increase/improve automation in the areas of Virtual Machine provisioning & configuration Data center operations

• Rack and stack new servers & storage

• Cable management for storage and networking Cloud (Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure)

• Ability to administer cloud portals including Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure

• Set up and configure new cloud-based environments - recommend best practices

• Knowledge of lift and shift migration techniques for workloads from on-prem to cloud

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or another related field
• 5+ years VMWare HORIZON Administration & Maintenance - or VMware vSphere experience plus another VDI product such as Citrix VDI
• 5+ Years Cloud Knowledge (Azure and/or AWS)
• Data center systems management

• Dell hardware experience preferred

• Windows Server / Active Directory experience

• Application & Desktop support

• Ability to work in Jupiter Office 3-5 Days per week

Preferred Skills and Previous Experience

• Linux experience

• Debian/Ubuntu preferred

• Containerization experience (Kubernetes or Docker)
