Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a System Administrator on the Dahlonega campus. The Systems Administrator's mission is to configure, deploy, and support services and systems to provide innovative, flexible, secure, and dependable University business applications. Supports multiple servers, platforms, and applications in testing, development, and production environments.

This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance is consistent with University goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Systems Administrator will ensure risk is remediated quickly by keeping University systems patched and up to date on a regular basis. Must maintain mobile phone for phone call, SMS, and data communications.

Responsibilities Systems administration, optimization, cyber security, and maintenance in Windows Server OS, Active Directory, SQL Server, IIS, and other related enterprise systems. Example activities include system monitoring, patch management, and SSL Certificate rotation. Individual will help support University systems in multi-campus IT data centers during and outside business hours.

Maintaining a development environment for testing newly developed solutions. Utilizes best practices and standards to implement changes in production environments. Perform and test routine system backups and restores, physical asset audits, cyber security audits, and ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host systems in accordance with University business needs and compliance.

Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software incident and requests. Develop and maintain internal system documentation system. Pursue continuing education in IT as it relates to your position by way of higher education, technical training, and industry-recognized certifications.

Assist with systems migration to new datacenter hardware lifecycle management. Also, assist supervisor and other IT units with troubleshooting and repair of services, and perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Strong customer service orientation. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, and present ideas in a business and user friendly language. Required Qualifications Associates Degree or 60 credit hours required. 2 years of IT maintenance and repair experience; Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Preferred Qualifications Computer Science or STEM degree preferred.

Experience in Windows OS and familiarity with Windows file, print, and user management preferred.

Experience with ITSM preferred. At least one IT certification preferred.
