Position: System Administrator

Job Summary

The Network Administrator is assigned to a team that is responsible for the support for the entire computing environment including hardware procurement and deployment, tier 3 system support, project management of deployment and rehab projects, and assigned monitoring and management responsibilities. The role is a member of the IT shared services team that supports a portfolio of privately held companies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides support for existing Active Directory infrastructure deployments

  • Experience with Group Policy management and group policy design

  • Uses Powershell to automate processes and changes in the environment as required

  • Designs, deploys, and troubleshoots VMWare ESX servers as required

  • Follows and updates process documentation as needed

  • Manages projects related to deployment of new servers and Active Directory changes

  • Documents configuration and monitors various aspects of server infrastructure via Solarwinds

  • Supports ServiceDesk in resolving escalated tickets requiring specific technical knowledge

  • Provides Tier 3 server troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support

Relevant Skills

  • ITIL based service delivery for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Capacity Management, and Configuration Management

  • Ability to hold themselves and others accountable to high standards

  • Experience identifying and resolving issues independently. Demonstrates a solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment

  • Employs Think Plan Do Review critical thinking process for all tasks, large and small

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with information systems

  • Courage to take initiative in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances

  • Ability to gain alignment with different clients and represent a common point of view across multiple stakeholders. Must be confident in building business partnerships with various business stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of Active Directory / Group Policy experience

  • Required Certifications:

  • Microsoft MCSA Windows Server 2012/2016

  • VMWare VCP-DCV

  • Experience in technologies to include:

  • Group Policy

  • Powershell Scripting

  • Windows Server Configuration / Troubleshooting

  • VMWare ESXi Configuration / Troubleshooting

  • Windows Remote Desktop Services Server config/troubleshooting

  • Windows Server as a Print Server

  • Experience configuring VMWare clusters:

  • vSphere DRS

  • vSphere Resource Allocation

  • vSphere HA

  • Experience with DNS / DHCP / GPO Login Scripts

  • Comfortable providing support for remote locations

  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed, not to exceed 20%

  • Exceptional customer service orientation

  • Other duties as assigned

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a System Administrator for our Indianapolis, IN, Norwell, MA or Albany, NY offices. The System Administrator position's primary responsibility is for the implementation and management of one or more specific Network Operations Systems (ex. network applications, specific servers, virtual environments, storage) as assigned by the Network Operations Manager and working with the Network Administrators. A deep understanding of specific systems is the focus of the Systems Administrator however this position will be involved with administering many technologies. Occasional travel to other company offices may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Deep understanding of design, implementation and management of some specific technologies, specifically looking for any of the following: System Center Configuration Manager, SharePoint, VMware, Skype for Business, Teams, Office365 administrator, Azure administration, Veeam or Horizon View VDI. * Monitoring and troubleshooting Windows server and desktop operation systems and applications. * Active Directory administration (Permissions, Users, Sites, DFS, DNS, etc..). * Perform network hardware replacement and upgrades. * Troubleshooting and monitoring backup infrastructure. * Assisting with data archiving and retrieval. * Assisting with network operations tasks related to office relocations. * Using System Center Configuration Manager for Client Change Management Control and application packaging and deployment. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE * Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field; Bachelor's preferred or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. * Desktop level certification (deploying, managing) preferred. * Currently holds network application certification (Exchange, SCCM, etc.) preferred. * Holds or actively pursuing server-based Microsoft certification such as MCSA preferred. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum 3 years of technical support directly supporting end users. * Minimum 2 years of entry level network support. * PowerShell scripting experience preferred. * Expertise in one or more systems described in the above responsibilities. * Demonstrates an ongoing personal history of professional development and learning. * Must be trustworthy and able to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
