The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Supports the operations of all RWE power generation assets in the Americas to assure we minimize downtime which is crucial to our ability to maintain control of our turbines at all times.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain the lifecycle of systems, patching, compliance and capacity planning in the Production IT environment.

  • Installs, monitors and manages Windows, Virtualized (VMWare), or Unix/Linux server infrastructure.

  • Lead internal project initiatives and work closely with Project Managers to understand deliverables and meet delivery deadlines.

  • Performs installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning, through approved change management mechanisms.

  • Manages incident tickets to resolution, within SLA and to approved documented standards.

  • Investigate root cause of system failures and propose corrective actions to prevent future occurrence.

  • Work within a global team reporting into a regional lead and work closely with other technical teams supporting the Windows server fleet.

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

  • Travel to sites to perform upgrades and necessary maintenance when needed

  • Perform help desk tasks in creation, maintenance and completion.

  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request

  • Participate in the design, execution and risk mitigation regarding vulnerability assessments, and security/regulatory audits.

  • Participate in the creation of enterprise security documentation (policies, programs, standards, baselines, guidelines, procedures and metric/key performance reporting).

  • Perform the deployment, integration and configuration of security solutions and of enhancements to existing information/operational technology in accordance with standard best practice procedures and enterprise security policy.

  • Assist subject matter experts on compliance standards and application of associated requirements

  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

  • Monthly Security Event monitoring of configurations

  • Respond to Tier 2/3 problems / incident support requests

  • Ensures all corporate processes are adhered to ensuring changes to the Enterprise Service infrastructure are fully documented following the best practice principles of ITIL.

The Sr. System Administrator is also responsible for overseeing and performing advanced-level system administration tasks and coordinates with Network Engineers to support all network connectivity, including the organization's server clusters and all connections to LAN/WAN technologies, ensuring the availability of server technology resources.</p><p>Job Description:</p><ul><li><p>Design, implement, and maintains the Credit Union's physical and VMWare virtual infrastructure.</p></li><li><p>Applies OS patches and upgrades regularly and upgrades administrative tools and utilities; Configures/adds new applications and services as necessary.</p></li><li><p>Supports and assists the manager in ensuring established performance and departmental goals are met by facilitating daily tasks and project initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups and restores.</p></li><li><p>Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery disks are created, and media is recycled and set off-site as necessary.</p></li><li><p>Maintains operational, configuration, and other procedural documentation.</p></li><li><p>Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning-Remediates capacity issues with hardware upgrades as necessary.</p></li><li><p>Support, troubleshoot, and upgrade applications based on business department requirements and needs.</p></li><li><p>Participates in the Information Technology Disaster Recovery Team; maintains Credit Union disaster recovery site and performs ongoing verification testing.</p></li><li><p>Assists with remediation and mitigation of system and network vulnerabilities.</p></li><li><p>Performs management of internal and external DNS, including internal DHCP.</p></li><li><p>Manages internal root certificate and certificate infrastructure.
