System Administrator

Description Position at Ruppert Landscape - Corporate Ruppert Landscape headquartered in Laytonsville, MD is a privately held, commercial landscape maintenance and construction company. We are seeking an experienced System Administrator, with the ability to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: Owner of troubleshooting issues and outages of production systems Monitor network performance and maintain systems according to requirements Provide reports on production systems trends, outages, metrics Manage and support MDM solutions (Manage Engine, Intune) for deployment, security, and updates across all devices.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve networking issues, ensuring smooth and secure network operations. Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks Assist in the management of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPCs, WAF, gateways, switches, and routers, which include researching, designing, formulating, and documenting firewall rules. Categorize Incidents and severity consistent with organization criteria.

Handle escalated IT support tickets, resolving complex issues and ensuring timely solutions and communications. Administer and maintain servers, workstations, and network equipment to meet the organization's operational needs. Manage assets and resources within the Azure cloud environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost efficiency.

Assist with the implementation of network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and security patches. Ensure backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are regularly tested and updated. Perform system updates, patches, and regularly scheduled maintenance.

Collaborate with other departments to assess their technology needs and provide solutions. Assist the buildout of an internal repository with technical documentation Assist the IT department as needed. Qualifications: 2-year Degree (AA) in computer science; or like experience.
