We're looking for a systems administrator with knowledge of both Linux and Windows administration in a virtualized environment. You must be able work both independently and as part of a team to help us maintain and improve the networks and systems we support, providing the client with a functional and secure platform for analysis and development.
As a systems administrator on our project, you'll maintain responsibility for activities related to system operations and administration. You'll help to design and implement improvements to hardware and software architecture and configurations, create and modify scripts used for system administration in languages, such as Bash and PowerShell, maintain and provide life cycle support for deployed systems, including troubleshooting issues, creating or maintaining software baseline, and assisting with software configuration control, and maintain source code and scripts in standard location for team access and review. You will perform Linux and Windows system setup and management for both physical and virtual Operating Systems (OS), including provisioning, configuration, patching and update management, and platform securing or hardening. You'll help customers overcome the challenges by recommending improvements to existing components/processes, create and maintain all appropriate documentation, and document and support configuration management processes.You'll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement and communicate those needs with the team, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together.

Serve as a systems administrator in a mixed Windows/Linux OS environment with a VMWare virtualized infrastructure. Serve as part of a team providing dedicated systems support to analysts, engineers, and security team members. Configure system and network infrastructure to facilitate access, including maintaining a high level of security. Provide quality technical support for end users and maintain responsibility of technical infrastructure. Manage Microsoft Active Directory integration with Linux clients. Monitor and improve the performance of systems and network infrastructure proactively and maintain procedures, processes, and documentation.

3+ years of experience with Linux and Windows desktop and server systems administration
Experience with Linux command line usage and scripting and software management
Experience supporting end users with computer hardware and software issues
Experience with Windows Active Directory and troubleshooting issues related to Active Directory topology and related features in a domain environment
HS diploma or GED
Security+ or equivalent DoDD 8140/DoDD 8570 certification
Nice If You Have:
Experience with virtualization, including VMWare ESXi
Experience with configuration management and patch management
Experience with data backup and recovery solutions
Experience with system imaging
Experience with creating and maintaining technical documentation
Knowledge of network configuration, including switch configuration, VLANs and subnetting
Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
BA or BS degree Information Systems, CS, or Engineering
