Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and integrate cutting-edge software-based solutions for mission customer-oriented applications and frameworks.
  • Writing automated tests to verify code quality
  • Implement working applications from mockups provided by designers


Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active security clearance TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
  • Strong interest in building dynamic, efficient, and well-engineered software
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Proven aptitude to learn quickly
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team setting
  • Strong background in the field of software engineering
  • Firm understand of software best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires experience with both LINUX and WINDOWS System Administration
  • VMware experience
  • Virtualization experience (VMware vCenter, ESXi, KVM)
  • A minimum of 3 years system administration experience with computer systems
  • Within the last 3 years, experience with either UNIX or Windows System Administration, to include user account administration, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification, client-server support, software and hardware upgrades, troubleshooting, and shell script programming.
  • Within the last 3 years, experience with Network Information Service (NIS), Network File System (NFS), Domain Name System (DNS), and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
  • Within the last 3 years, a minimum of 1 year scripting experience using BOURNE Shell, C Shell or KORN Shell languages.
  • Within the last 3 years, a minimum of 1 year experience performing periodic system back-ups and developing/documenting standard operating procedures for these activities

Desired Qualifications:

A preferred candidate will have experience with any of the following:

  • A Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA) or Redhat Certified Technician (RHCT) certification is highly desirable and can substitute for 1 year experience.
  • Understanding of information security principles and practices.
  • Experience with IAVA patching
  • Experience with NetApp and Isilon storage, NiagaraFiles (NiFi) dataflow.
  • Knowledge of networking, DNS, web services (apache, tomcat), NFS, SMB, and OpenLDAP.
  • Ability to automate system tasks using bash, python, perl scripting.

The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Annapolis Junction campus. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:</p><ul><li><p>Perform as a Windows/VMware Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.</p></li><li><p>Perform as a Linux/Redhat Systems Administrator for a classified government contract.</p></li><li><p>Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.</p></li><li><p>Analyze internal and external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems.</p></li><li><p>Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading, patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.</p></li><li><p>Provide backup and recovery services, manage file systems and disk space, and manage virus protection on a routine basis.</p></li><li><p>Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.</p></li><li><p>Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.</p></li><li><p>Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.</p></li><li><p>Make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and system components.</p></li><li><p>Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors and evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.</p></li><li><p>Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.</p></li><li><p>Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).</p></li><li><p>Prepare security documentation for input to Computer Security.</p></li><li><p>Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.</p></li><li><p>Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.</p></li></ul><p>Basic Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Associate's degree and 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience, or Master's degree and 3 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent and 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.</p></li><li><p>Current TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance, and the ability to maintain the required security clearance as a condition of continued employment.</p></li><li><p>Current Security+CE certification, or the ability to obtain the required certification within 6 months of hire date; maintaining the required certification will be a condition of continued employment.</p></li><li><p>Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture.</p></li><li><p>Ability to support multiple networks, ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, and direct others as necessary.</p></li><li><p>Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.</p></li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security related field.</p></li><li><p>Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments.</p></li><li><p>Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment.</p></li><li><p>Server management experience.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification.</p></li><li><p>Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems.</p></li><li><p>Linux Operating System experience and/or certification for current versions.</p></li><li><p>VMWare experience with current version.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).</p></li><li><p>Rudimentary Scripting experience.</p></li><li><p>Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Certification &amp; Accreditation process.</p></li><li><p>DoD 8570 Certification in a primary OS (Windows, Linux, Cisco).</p></li><li><p>Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and verbal format.</p></li></ul><p>Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00</p><p>Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
