Leidos is s seeking a Senior System Administrator to work onsite for a DoD customer at MCB Quantico, VA.

JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Admin will perform System Administration functions for classified Linux-based servers, Windows-based clients, and support Wide Area Network (LAN and WAN) infrastructures to provide operational readiness for the JPED Analysis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAs are responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and configuration of each system under their control. The SA enforces IS security standards as directed, to include user and privileged accounts creation and management, and provides technical support. The SA will configure, monitor, and administer web servers, database servers, application servers, client applications, etc.

Duties also include evaluating and installing software including patches and upgrades; analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system faults; review and prepare documentation for systems and tests; and develop and follow SOPs and perform daily server checks; and Perform storage planning, and execute backup and restore tasks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicant must have active TS/SCI security clearance at date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field. Additional experience and/or relevant industry certifications may serve in lieu of a degree.

  • Currently possess or obtain within six months of date of hire, the DoDD 8140 / DODD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification, which includes both the Baseline Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ certificate, and the accompanying Computer Environment (CE) certification such as Red Hat Certified Professional (RHCP).

  • At least 4 years of system administration experience, with at least 2 years of experience administering Linux servers, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and/or DAS, and Networking skills required, with emphasis on security.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Red Hat Certified Professional (RHCP) certification, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

  • Familiarity with Full Motion Video, and video processing, exploitation, and dissemination.

  • Familiarity with NetApp SAN

  • Familiarity with Juniper network infrastructure

  • Strong technical written and verbal communication skills essential. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

ABOUT THIS POSITION This position will support the Marine Corps by providing System Administration of the servers, workstations, switches and networks of the electronic security systems controlling and monitoring access to the Marine Corps facilities. This position also ensures these systems are compliant with all DoD cybersecurity guidelines. System Administrator Roles & Responsibilities: * Applies technical skills and experience in managing selected Windows servers and numerous workstations supporting a group of physical security specialists. * Analyzes internal or external customer needs, and determines equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems. * Develops customized solutions to customer/user problems. * Establishes system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies user requirements in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. * Ensures data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions. * Recommends and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. * Performs audits as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM). * Ensures network (LAN/WAN, telecommunications, and voice security access and protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. IAO Roles & Responsibilities: * Implements and maintains standards, procedures, and guidelines to promote the security and uninterrupted operation of computer-based application systems within the Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems. * Ensures that all Marine Corps system IA-related processes are monitored and accessible to properly authorized individuals approved by the Marine Corps AO. * Ensures that all IS users and operators read, understand, and sign the appropriate System * Authorization Access Request (SAAR) (i.e., NIPRNet) prior to receiving access to IT resources. * Ensures that IA and IA-enabled software, hardware, and firmware are in compliance with the appropriate Marine Corps AO -approved security configurations. * Coordinates security procedures with the ISSM, initiates investigative procedures for security events, and implements protective or corrective measures when an IA incident or vulnerability is discovered. * Ensures that Marine Corps ESS Information System back-up and recovery processes are tested (initially and annually thereafter). * Coordinates local system security with local security policies and procedures as required to comply with DoD, DON, and Marine Corps IA policies and directives. * Coordinates with local technicians and PMO staff to develop, refine, and test the local IA Contingency Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan, which are part of the overall Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, and recoverability of critical ISs and data is maintained during and after a disaster. Additionally, coordinates with the appropriate representatives to ensure that the Contingency and Disaster Recovery Plans meet command objectives and are tested prior to system operation and annually thereafter.
