Position Description:

The System Administrator II provides level II service desk support with the goal of delivering high levels of customer service and efficiency.

The System Administrator II provides administrative operational support for the network systems of the corporation, including all servers, server applications and network infrastructure. The System Administrator II provides monitoring of all systems and is the first level response to system generated alerts and escalates issues as needed.

This position will follow direction and process for system administration set in place by System Engineers and Network Engineers. The System Administrator II assumes ownership of one to many systems supported by the Enterprise Technical Services team and provides mentorship to peers and junior level System Administrators as well as System Technicians.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate degree in information systems or related major is preferred.

  • Minimum seven years experience in information systems with an emphasis on the types of duties performed by the position.

  • Minimum seven years experience packaging software applications. (MSI/Windows Installer format)

  • Minimum two years experience as a System Administrator I or equivalent.

  • Experience using an automated software deployment tool preferred.

  • Experience in software and system implementation.

  • Experience in creating technical documentation.

  • Requires basic server and network knowledge.

  • Experience in scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, batch files, InstallScript, Wise Script, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Group Policies, and Windows Servers.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with other systems personnel in a team environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to nonpublic business, financial, personnel, salary, and technological information, plans or data.

  • Ability to think analytically to solve technical problems individually and in a team environment.

  • Ability to effectively plan, schedule and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers' needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.

  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.

VIEW JOBS 1/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-14T00:00 Yesway is seeking a Network Administrator with strong experience in network security best practice, particularly in regard to PCI Data Security Standards. Yesway plans to assemble a portfolio of gas stations in selected regions of the United States. We are looking for a candidate who is excited to join our team and is passionate about taking a role in a rapidly growing company. This position is expected to report to the Chief Technology Officer and work out of our West Des Moines office. Position Responsibilities: * Manage network hardware and security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems for optimal performance and version currency; * Perform periodic security audits; * Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; * Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs; * Perform network design and capacity planning; * Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans related to network and systems security with regard to best practice and PCI compliance; * Define and implement a solution for network asset management; * Assist in the management of servers, including SQL Server, Exchange, print, and backup servers and processes, including the administration and maintenance of end-user accounts and, permissions; * Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services; * Manage and/or provide guidance to other team members, as appropriate; and * Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (or comparable experience) plus four to six years of experience in a technical role, and additional related certifications a plus; * Demonstrated hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting network switching, routing, and firewall solutions in a distributed environment and experience with Cisco Meraki solutions is a plus; * Demonstrated experience developing and implementing policies and procedures related to data privacy best practices and PCI Data Security Standards; * Experience with retail convenience store technology environment including point of sale, fuel, credit, back office, and daily book accounting processes is a plus; * Solid SQL programming and database administration skills a strong plus; * Experience managing Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and Active Directory, and various infrastructure tools for backups, security, and systems monitoring, etc.; * Experience with telecommunications technologies, such as DSL/Cable, 4G, T1, and satellite; * Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated experience presenting effective technical solution recommendations to management; * Able to present ideas in clear, concise, user-friendly language; * Highly self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills, solid customer service skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team-oriented environment; * Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail; * Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; * Occasional after hours, weekend, and on-call work may be required; and * Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals, and occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
