The System Administrator II provides level II service desk support with the goal of delivering high levels of customer service and efficiency.
The System Administrator II provides administrative operational support for the network systems of the corporation, including all servers, server applications and network infrastructure. The System Administrator II provides monitoring of all systems and is the first level response to system generated alerts and escalates issues as needed.
This position will follow direction and process for system administration set in place by System Engineers and Network Engineers. The System Administrator II assumes ownership of one to many systems supported by the Enterprise Technical Services team and provides mentorship to peers and junior level System Administrators as well as System Technicians.
Associate degree in information systems or related major is preferred.
Minimum seven years experience in information systems with an emphasis on the types of duties performed by the position.
Minimum seven years experience packaging software applications. (MSI/Windows Installer format)
Minimum two years experience as a System Administrator I or equivalent.
Experience using an automated software deployment tool preferred.
Experience in software and system implementation.
Experience in creating technical documentation.
Requires basic server and network knowledge.
Experience in scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, batch files, InstallScript, Wise Script, etc.)
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Active Directory Group Policies, and Windows Servers.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with other systems personnel in a team environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to nonpublic business, financial, personnel, salary, and technological information, plans or data.
Ability to think analytically to solve technical problems individually and in a team environment.
Ability to effectively plan, schedule and meet deadlines.
Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers' needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
