The Role

Dematic Corp. has a need at our Atlanta, GA office for a Controls Engineer in our Customer Service group. The successful candidates will have experience working in the material handling industry. Candidates must have the below qualifications:

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls platforms a necessity.

  • Experience with controls hardware design a necessity.

  • Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus.

  • Design work is to be expected. The ability to work proficiently within the ACADE 2008 environment will be beneficial when being considered as a candidate.

  • Willingness to work weekends, overtime and to travel is a must. 10% ~ 30% travel is to be expected.

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of successful experience in related field.

  • Experience providing Customer Service Support

  • Strong verbal communication skills over the phone

Job Family Responsibilities:
Participates in the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software. Provides support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up.

Participates in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems.

What We Are Looking For

Education:Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree, but may be substituted with experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Knowledge and Experience:Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable Direction of Others:May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff. Key Working Relationships:Primarily intra-organizational contacts and some external contacts.

Key responsibilities include: Process Improvement * Organizes, leads, and facilitates cross-LOB, enterprise-wide process design, measurement and re-engineering initiatives that will encompass an end to end analysis and future state redesign that requires specialized knowledge or skill critical to the redesign effort in a matrix leadership environment * Develop improvement approaches within businesses and across lines of businesses that are holistic, customer focused to understanding business processes and workflow through Wells Fargo and identify and help prioritize new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate potential risks and control gaps, financial return, and/or positive customer impact * Develops root cause analysis and business case for proposed technology, staff and structure changes, including cost estimates * Establishes standards for measuring performance against process requirements - Including the developing metrics that provide data for process management indicators for future improvement opportunities * Provide advanced statistical analysis for business leaders, project teams, and managers as required.
